How will the world look with Islamic Sharia Implementation?

on Tuesday, August 20, 2013

There have been a lot of teachings that are associated with Muslims and Sharia is one of them. Sharia is the study of moral conducts and religious law of Islam which deals with a lot of secular topics and laws like economics, sexual intercourse, crime, politics and a lot more. The interpretation of sharia varies between one location to another and is taken to be the infallible law of Allah and cannot be opposed by the human logical interpretation.

Sharia law is of two primary sources, the examples that are set by the Islamic prophet Muhammad and then the precepts in the Holy book, Quran. And because of this primary source of sharia, it is only the Islamic judges who can address this law. Now, if this law is implemented around the world, there would be a change in the system of governments, trading, lifestyle and also the norms of the society. A lot of things would be different from what we are experiencing in our world today. This means that the Islamic jurisprudence would supersede the world’s government and Islam would only be the recognized religion in the world.

There would be a lot of questions about freedom of speech and freedom if this ever happens. The reintroduction of the sharia law has always been a long-lasting aim for Islamist movements around the world, but its imposing in some few countries have always been trailed by a lot of violence and controversies and sometimes war, like what happened in Sudan when they had their second civil war. This is the type of topics that can be raised when Sharia law is thought of in terms of its imposition or implementation. Nigeria, for instance has a lot of challenges when it was introduced in some Northern states in the country. There was a lot of bloodsheds and violence due to the fact that there were lots of misconceptions about its implementation.

There are different modifications that are seen in the sharia law for some countries to suit that particular region. This is the reason why implementing a single sharia law that has a uniform practice can be the perfect thing to do. However, this may not be the case due to locations and various beliefs and teachings of Islam. If this is possible then we can think of implementing sharia in the world. However, it is a known fact that there are lots of other religions that dominate some parts of the world which may also mar the possibility of this implementation.

However, if sharia is implemented in the world, it is going to be a world that is governed by a common government based on the Islamic belief and religion. This may not be what a lot of people may want to get involved with as the freedom of lifestyle and speech is always paramount. Majority of the world would not want to tie to any religion or belief. And if there is an attempt to try this implementation, war is eminent and also a lot of violence can be experienced all over the world. No one is willing to witness World War III because of a religion. This means the world is better far with the way it is together. Even Muslims have their different beliefs due to various teachings, and also the infuse of some fanatics in the faith may not help matters. Because sharia does affect every aspect of life as there is no separation between the sacred and secular. If this is the case, implementing sharia may be a daunting case scenario.

What if this is possible? How will our world become? It is going to be a perfect world for every Muslim around the world. A lot of ills of the world would be eliminated, and there would be an easy ride when it comes to maintaining a good lifestyle that is void of corruption and a lot of things. Allah the All Mighty Says (what means): “This day has I perfected your religion for you and completed My favor upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” [Quran 5:3]. This was one of the last verses revealed chronologically to Prophet Muhammad. We should ask ourselves, is it what would be best for us if Sharia is implemented? If we can answer this question sincerely then we are on our way to a better lifestyle and religion practice.
