We Must Respect Every Religion

The promotion of an ideology depends on the extent of people’s devotion, dedication and adherence to it. The Islamic ideology has influenced the minds of the individuals having their firm faith in the eternal principles of Islam. The sources of Islamic ideology are Holy Quran and the Sunnah.

  1. 1.      The Holy Quran:

The Quran is the permanent basis of Islam. It provides detailed guidance to the people.

  1. 2.      Sunnah:

Our Holy Prophet (S.A.W) elaborated the injunctions of Islam by his words and deeds. The explanation of the Islam teachings is found in the Sunnah, which is the essential source of Islamic laws and principles. Sunnah is an Arabic term. The literal meaning of the Sunnah is ‘the way to follow’. The Quran outlines the broader principles of Islam and its elaborations are enshrined in the slayings of our Holy Prophet (S.A.W). The fundamental principles of Islam like prayers, zakat, fasting and hajj were elaborated by the Holy Prophet (S.A.W).

  1. 3.      Traditions And Cultural Values:

The values and traditions, such as festivals, gatherings and ceremonies which do not run opposite to the teachings of Islam, are allowed to be followed by Muslims in their respective regions.

Why is an ideology important to a nation? Ideology is significant because:

  1. It reflects the ideas of the people and determines their way of living, thinking and social interaction.
  2. It helps people unite on one platform and affords a source of manifestation of the national strength.
  3. It is a motivating force for deeds and actions. People may willingly sacrifice anything for a certain cause under the influence of an ideology.
  4. It is the source of struggle for achieving the divine objective, and it serves as a motivational force for the progress and prosperity of a society under a recognized and truthful leadership.
  5. Ideology provides an insight in making the choice of the leaders. It helps in making right decisions.
  6. It helps preserves the freedom, culture and traditions.

The majority of people believes that Allah is the sustainer and provider. Many people think that having a large family is a source of strength. We believe that our religion, that is Islam, is the best and we should respect and obey it. We should definitely do that but as Islam is precious to us similarly other religions like Christianity, Hinduism and many others are precious to their believers so we should not disrespect any other religion.

We should try to make people understand Islam and try to bring them on the path of Allah and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). But no one has the right to say something bad about other religionS as it can hurt others and Allah has also said that we should not misbehave with non-Muslims. We should be kind and good towards them.
