Is the UK different From the US?

on Wednesday, May 22, 2013

The United Kingdom and the United States sound like they are the same, but if we go deep to explore the realities, we realize that there is an immense difference between both countries. People like me can’t identify the difference between both of them. They have to visit both to finalize an opinion about them. Well, it is not easy nowadays to have an immigration visa to the UK or the US as it requires thousands of bucks which personally I don’t have… LOL!

So while drafting this piece of writing, I am relying on many of other fellow writers who have shared their views about America and Britain. They see that Americans are much more humorous and friendly than Britain. There are numerous differences between the UK and the US culture, language, lifestyle, fashion, reactions, attitudes and accent. If you are planning to visit these two countries then you must know their cultures and traditions so that you don’t face any issue while residing there.

A common believe is that the Americans are somehow more friendly than the British because the Americans get frank with the unknown people in bars, roadsides and in workplaces. While the British mind it, if someone try to ask a personal question. The citizens of the US don’t feel shy to ask and share their personal matters with their friends and colleagues. It is also observed that they are reliable people that you can trust easily without any hesitation. The US residents are very humorous people, if they don’t understand the humor of a person, they ask for an explanation and then laugh along with that person.

On the other side, the British are more civilized and punctual people than the Americans. It is seen that the US citizens start drinking alcohol at the age of 21. While the British don’t consume to much alcohol.  The Americans are famous for their hard work. You will always find an American student studying in the library because they are sincere in their work and studies.

It is noticed that the Americans believe in the importance of tipping to the lower class. If anyone doesn’t give a tip to the waiter, car drivers, hairdressers and etc, it is considered a very rude attitude. The Americans pay 10% tip for the poor services, 15 and 20% for the high-quality and excellent services. If you ever enjoy the service of your luggage lifter then don’t forget to pay a tip.

The people of the United States do eye contact with their fellows, if they want to say anything to their friends in an emergency, While the British feel uncomfortable on this act. Moreover, the American accent is different than the British accent. The Americans speak faster than the British. While Americans use gesture and move their body accordingly.
