Islam needs to learn from its Mistakes in hampering relations with the West

on Sunday, May 19, 2013

Islam and the Western countries always have a relationship that is on tenterhooks from time to time. This is something that is always complicated with leaders from both sides trying their best to make things better, and lightening up the situation. When one sits down to review this relationship over the last century or so, he would conclude that it was very unequal and largely volatile all the time. If one looks back, then he would see that since the breaking down of the Islamic states into smaller regions, these broken down regions were scenes of freedom seeking struggles.

The fake government of Israel that was created, and then the support provided to this regime by the power of the United States of America, and other countries in the West has helped in keeping the relationships unstable. Add to that, the issues with the whole Palestinian policies of the USA, and we have a situation that looks pretty grim at the outset. There were various changes at the helm of the US governance, but no one was able to find a stable solution for this matter, as of yet. In brief, the United States of America were always supportive of the Zionists that have created disruption to the daily life of the people of Israel, and at the same time, they have supported other western countries towards the same task.

It was since the Cold War that these relationships were sour, and the Western countries had this Islamophobia which kept growing over the period of time. After America’s attack on Afghanistan and Iraq, and then placing their troops in these countries this hatred of the West amongst the Islamic countries just kept growing. Such developments have resulted in the loss of life of a lot of innocent civilians and otherwise, including children and women who had nothing to do with all this hatred.

This phobia has grown out of proportion today, and there were numerous cases where young men have taken on them to improve things and fight the West. There were numerous cases of xenophobic activities and terrorist activities that have taken place over the years in various Western countries, but then it really doesn’t help. It is of concern that those in power in the Islamic world understand the other religions and show them the true meaning of Islam, rather than creating an Islamophobic world for themselves.

It is important that the Islamic countries learn to first live with each other so that they can fight the external and internal elements that are hell bent on making life difficult for them. It is important for the economy and the social upliftment of the whole region as no country or religion in this world can live or sustain everything on their own without the help of other cohabiting religions. Islam needs to learn from its mistakes and work together for a better tomorrow, may be for the future generations.
