Haitham, or Haythum, is one of the famous Muslim names that are given mostly to baby boys. It was originated from Arabic Language. This name means “A Young Eagle”. As you know, names have a great influence on an individual’s personality and can even help in shaping an individual’s future.

A person named Haitham is a very courteous man with obliging and peace loving nature. He has a sense of justice and possess an analytical sharp mind. He has willpower, proud and perfection. Ibn Al Haythum was  a major example of the man who could succeed in different professions and fields all together. He was a well known Muslim scientist, mathematician, philosopher, astronomer and polymath. He wrote books on the works of Euclid by Greek Mathematician and Ptolemy by Aristotle. He was known as Al-Basri as well because he was born in Basra in 965. It was the tradition of Arabs to call a person with his region name that’s why he was also called Al Basri. He perceived the teaching of Sixth Imam Jaffar e Sadiq, but after some time when he was practicing his teaching, Al Haythum lost his mental power. He was then arrested in a house, and he spent his whole life there till his death. It is written in almost all books, that he was the father of Scientific Methodology and Optics.
