There is clear discrimination found in American politics as Juan Williams made a statement that he doesn’t feel comfortable when Muslims are around. As a reaction to this statement, a channel fired Juan William’s, but at the same time Juan was offered a huge contract with another well-known news agency.
There are many misconceptions about Islam without knowing the actual meaning of it. Unfortunately, nowadays it’s quite normal for many to use religion for other purposes that actually causes harm for everyone. Some people only focus on target listeners or readers and say everything they wish to say, regardless of those statements are being true or not, only to mislead people and distort their ideas about a certain religion or issue. Those two reasons are the major reasons for Islamophobia.
Let me put in this way, a few years back, people were not comfortable with gays, and gays were not even treated like normal human beings, and that is the reason people used to crack jokes about them, but now the scenario is totally different as Islamophobia is increasing, as if people are doing totally the opposite of what Islam is teaching as a result of fear.
If we monitor the trends between Islamophobia and homophobia, we can clearly see the difference. Now, gays have more respect than ever before. Can you think of the reason why people now have accepted their presence in the society whereas there is a misconception about the Islamic teachings and behaviors? The reason in fact ia that now Muslims are facing more racism. There is always a limit for everything and if this irrational activity is not stopped then there are higher numbers of chances that there can be some kind of reaction from Muslims aroun the world.
Speaking about ht ereation of Muslims, everybody has the right of speech and you can not force someone to think the same way you do. The fact is that there is no religious text that allows you to be homosexual. Moreover, there is no example found in any text in any religious books regarding homosexuality; maybe that is the second reason why being gay is becoming widely acceptable.
The Bridge Logic Model is introduced which is somehow very much convincing as it helps in knowing different people with different religious views. The Bridge Logic Model is based on the idea that people need to have tolerant behavior and there must not be self-made assumptions on the scriptures.
There was enough progress made by the Bridge Logic that Straight Americans started to accept gays with open hearts. But the positive thing is that this bridge logic can also be applicable on religious matters and it helps a lot in narrowing the gap between the east and the west.
