The Almighty of all the worlds says in Al-Quran:
“You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them.”
In this verse, my Lord makes one thing crystal clear; that He made followers of Islam the best nation among all other nations of the world. Being a Muslim is the best possible choice for a human being in the eyes of Allah the Merciful.
It does not mean that Allah hates non-believers. No, He has created everything in the universe and loves them all. He only wants them to choose the best path, which would lead them to eternal bliss in the hereafter.
We have seen innumerable conversions of non Muslims to Islam, and very few in reverse. This happens only when one (blessed soul) gets to find out the real purpose of their existence. When the greatness of Islam opens to one’s eyes, they can see no further because there is nothing ahead of perfection.
Greatness of Islam, Allah and the Prophet PBUH has many times received remarkable opinions from non believers. Following are some examples.
According to Miss Sarojini Nidu:
“It was the first religion that preached and practiced democracy as in the mosque, the democracy of Islam is embodied five times a day when the peasant and king kneel side by side and proclaim: ‘God Alone is Great’.“
Sir George Bernard Shaw said,
“I believe if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring much needed peace and happiness.”
It is immensely appreciable to be a great human being; but it is of far much importance to be a Great Muslim. The former will give you good name in the world, but it will not guarantee Paradise. On the other hand, a great Muslim might not lead a very luxurious life, but will certainly have his share of heaven in the hereafter. Charitable acts are extremely commendable and appreciated in Islam. Islam is in reality a philanthropic religion; the economic system of which is based on the principles like Zakat and Sadaqah.
Islam is also the biggest supporter of peace and promoter of brotherhood among the nations. The current image of Islam as an extremist and terrorist religion is basically due to the instinctive rather insanely hasty acts of a handful of people who called themselves Followers of Islam. It is important to note that Islam has always promoted peaceful relations with other countries. Most of the wars in Prophet’s (PBUH) era were defensive; they were rarely attackers. Even when they attacked; rules of Islamic War Laws were followed in letter and spirit. No other nation is found to treat others in the past in the way Muslims did. Following such a religion is absolutely better than following any other religion.
Islam has given absolute rights of inheritance, dower, and maintenance to the women. No other religion recognizes the rights of women to this extent.
Allah has created us all; He loves us, feeds us, gives us shelter, and provides us with everything that we desire. He alone deserves to be worshiped, as there is no match of His mercy. Islam is the greatest religion which extended to the whole world only because of the morality and ethical attitudes of Muslims.
There would be no excuse in the hereafter, as Allah’s message has spread to every corner of the world. Definitely, our only refuge is Islam; the religion of Peace.
