High Standards of livings of Muslims in UK

Islam is the second largest religion in the UK after Christianity. There are around 3 million Muslims in the UK as per 2011 census. England and Whales are the 2 most populated Muslim areas in the UK.

Muslims in the UK have a long history and since the start they have faced discrimination and unequal behavior of the native British residents. But if we look at some of the surveys, we will see that a lot more Muslims are proud to be British citizens when compared to normal public, and also lot more Muslims like to live in diverse neighborhoods and communicate with other races compared to the normal public in the UK.

Muslims are involved in all sorts of professions in the UK. Starting with cab drivers to CEO of multinational companies, you will find Muslims in many different roles. Even with discrimination and unequal behavior, Muslims have managed to keep their heads up in the UK, and proofed that they are reliable and can exist with the other religions. Unemployment is seen in many cases among Muslim men due to the discrimination even with their education and work experience in many cases; but in most cases they fight well to make a living even in such cases.

Even with the unemployment issues, Muslims in the UK have kept a high standard of living when compared to the members of other religions. They have managed to keep a healthy Islamic lifestyle and balanced well with their work and family. Families live together, and divorce rates are significantly lower than the other religions. The standard of living is not just high for high end managers and employees; it’s the same for the low end professions like cleaning professions and car maintenance.

The high standard of living does not just mean that they live in a big house and spend money on unnecessary things, which is a common understanding of the term high standards, it means they live a decent life style, kids get a proper education, proper family communication and gathering. In general, stress is a lot less and having less stress leads to a normal healthier lifestyle. However, the normal definition of high standard, which refers to big houses and large spending, stil applies on the Muslims in the UK.

There is a large population of Muslims which includes high end businesses men and have been in the UK for decades. For them, having a multi storey house or having a Ferrari or Porsche is not a big deal. Similarly, the kids in those families are good spenders of money.

Gerally speaking, Muslims in the UK do face many issues and difficulties, but if we go into detail, we will see that many enjoy a very healthy lifestyle and keep very high living standard for themselves and their families.
