As there is a huge tension between Israel and Syria over the civil war in Syria, and it’s been claimed by the USA and Israel that the Syrian government is using the chemical weapons in the war against the rebels. According to the Israeli media, the American CIA chief was sent to Israel so that he could force Israel to stop taking actions against Syria on their own.
Israel and the USA were allies on this respect, but now the US is trying to tackle the situation by demanding from Israel not to take any decisions against Syria without the consensus of the USA.The purpose of sending the CIA head to Israel is to get an assessment of the situation in Syria. John Brennan would be meeting high officials of Israel so as make it sure that the situation is under control in Syria and try to find a way out with the collaboration.The security situation in Syria was very disturbing for both America and Israel. Military role would also be coming under the discussion between the CIA head and the Israeli officials.
There were meetings between the Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the CIA chief in which they were discussing the use of weapons in Syria. As there were a lot of evidences found in Syria that there is use of chemical weapons. Recently, there were fighting going on between the rebels and the Syrian government in which hundreds of people were killed. The whole situation is quite alarming as far as the USA is concerned. Defense minister, Moshe Ya’alon, and military chief of staff Benny Gantz was also present at the meeting between the US and the Israeli officials in which the role of the army came under the discussion.
Soon after the meeting between the officials, there were two air attacks made by the Israeli air force near Damascus. Israel is of the view that Hezbollah one of the allies in Lebanon is supporting the Syrian government so that they can use chemical weapons. According to one of the newspapers in Israel, the Israeli government is quite disappointed by the action of the Obama government on the issue of the nuclear weapon use in Syria. New York Times reported that one of the high officials of Israel has said that Israel would be having more strikes so that the supply of the weaponry could be stopped. Syria cannot attack Israel as the Syrian president won’t risk losing his administration.
In reaction, the Syrian government is of the view that Israel should immediately stop the attacks otherwise the conflict could grow to a higher level. Two shells have landed on the Israeli soil, and Abdul Qader al-Husseini brigades have taken the responsibility of the attacks.
