When I started cooking, I was told that patience is the main factor that plays an important role in bringing up the taste. But I didn’t bother to notice that, and I was impatient in most of the cooking that I did. As a result, I failed to make tofu. But soon I noticed that somethings require to be cooked with patience like mushrooms, tomatoes and fish. All of these items must be cooked slowly so that they can get brown in color and crunchier.
Searing tofu is an easy thing to do, but you need to cook it in time intervals. What I did actually, I stirred tofu with the sliced pieces of sugar snap peas but you can add some vegetables to make it tastier. Zucchini, green beans, mushrooms, broccoli and asparagus are mostly used.
It really depends upon that person who is cooking the tofu, and what kind of tofu is wished to be prepared. Either crisp or firm tofu can be prepared, but some people do like to have soft tofu as well. In order to prepare soft tofu I pressed tofu with weight using the baking sheet so that most of the water can be extracted from the tofu.
Before you add tofu into the pan to make it sure that the pan gets hot and the oil does have enough temperature that can cook tofu well, and then can turn that tofu in brownish color.
Hot and Sour Seared Tofu with Sugar Snap Peas
Hot and Sour Seared Tofu with Sugar Snap Peas is sufficient for 2 to 3 the number of persons and the time required to cook the dish is almost 20 minutes.
Ingredients Required:
- 1 14-ounce extra firm tofu
- 4 large Garlic cloves , must be grated.
- Jalapeno chilies as per requirement. Should be sliced and 2 small Jalapeno chilies would be sufficient.
- Soya sauce is required, 1 and half table spoon is sufficient.
- Ginger paste one and half table spoon
- Fresh lime juice as per requirement for the taste.
- For drizzling sesame oil is a must.
- Sliced snap peas , use 6 ounces at maximum
- Sesame seeds should be used for serving purpose.
- Rice is a supportive dish for serving.
- Chopped cilantro may also be used for serving.
How to Cook:
Make it sure that water should be extracted from the tofu. On the other hand, make the sauce with garlic, chilies, soy sauce, ginger, lime juice, sesame oil, fish sauce and honey. Try to make tofu, try as my as you can .Heat the pan and add the oil then add tofu into the pan including sugar snap. Use few drops of oil and then add vegetables, and make it sure that you sit fry completely. Rice with basil can be served with vegetables. Sprinkle some sesame oil at the top.
