Absconder who was a British citizen cough when trying to jump from the dock.The attempt was made during the trial of robbery that was made four years ago. The British citizen was involved in an armed robbery of the royal mail van. The police successfully arrested the prisoner after the raid on one of the luxurious cottages in Spain. Police tracked the escapee last November but failed to arrest the fugitive.
Andrew Moran was caught with this girlfriend near the swimming pool when the police raided. Weapons were recovered from Andrew including two handguns and ammunition. No charges were filed against Andrew’s girlfriend. Andrew Morgan was on the top of the list of most wanted people in Soca list. Soca is said to be a serious organized crime agency. Andrew was found guilty as he was involved in threatening the staff of the royal mail van.
He was in custody when he suddenly escaped from the court room injuring the guards, as well. This resulted in the return of the verdict by the jury as Moran was not present. Andrew would be now facing the trial that will begin in Madrid on Monday. Arrest of Andrew was made successful after the joint operation of Soca, the Spanish police and North West regional organized crime unit.
One of the members of Andrew Moran, Stephen Devalda who also tried to escape from the court was finally caught in Marbella in 2011. He was sentenced nine years of prison later at Preston Crown. Devalda was also found guilty of conspiracy in armed robbery. Head of the investigation at Soca told the news reporter that Andrew was using false identities and kept on changing the places but was finally caught in Spain.
Both partners tried their best to get the place where they can hide but found no such place as Soca, and its partners were constantly monitoring the movement of both which resulted in the arrest of both at different places. Soca and its allies have the ability to pursue criminals of all levels. There were lots of evidence collected by Soca in which he was shown in different disguised appearances. He was caught by the Spanish police but successfully escaped by ramming police cars by his 4×4 drive.
Lots of weapons, which were found after the search operation by the police where Andrew was living, are considered as lethal weapons. All of the weapons were taken into custody by the police. Soca has worked with the police departments in Spain along with the other allies to get the most wanted criminals on the hit list. “The effort that was made by the police to arrest Andrew must be appreciated”, said detective chief inspector Janet Hudson who was representing Titan, one of the allies that helped in reaching Andrew. Now the case will proceed as it should be. From this, one can understand that the criminals ultimately get arrested one day by one way or another.
