Syrian Regime Finds Support in Hezbollah Leader

on Friday, May 31, 2013

The Hezbollah leader voiced his opinion that if the Syrian regime fails then it paves the way for Islamic extremist to enter the Middle East and make it a “dark period”. He has promised not to let that happen and to provide enough support by lending his own army. He refuses to stay calm when their ally is under attack in Damascus.

In the televised speech, the leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, mentioned that the members of Hezbollah are fighting against the Islamic extremist who pose an immediate threat to Lebanon. The Hezbollah members refuse to let the Syrian army control the Lebanon borders.

This is the first speech which indicates that his members are involved in the fight and the rebels are committed to helping the Syrian town, Qusair, which is strategically located in the Lebanon frontier.

The leader was widely speculated for sending fighters to help Syria along with President Bashar al-Assad’s fighters. He defended himself by stating that his decision to help Syria is a part of his widely devised operation for naming it as a part of a big battle against Israel. He called it as the “existential war” for a group like his which is anti-Israel.

“Syria is the back of the resistance, and the resistance cannot stand, arms folded, while its back is broken,” the leader of Hezbollah said.

The leader of Hezbollah fears that if Syria falls in the hands of America, Israel, or takfiris then the people belonging to his religion will go to a dark place. He added, “If Syria falls, Palestine will be lost.”, marking the Israel’s retirement from the southern part of Lebanon in May 2000, in his speech.

“Takfiris” is a term adopted to supplement the reigns of the movement of Salafist which embraces violence to achieve its goals. Many people following it, use the techniques of Al-Qaida.

This particular speech was made by the Hezbollah leader along with the government of Syria to recruit more forces to defend their town in the Lebanon border.

The fighter in Qusair has given statements about extra tankers and ammunition near the Lebanon border where the fight is going strong.

An activist named Malek Ammar commented that he has never seen such a day since the battle started, as there was so much violence involved. He added that it looked like they were trying to evaporate all the houses in the city.

The Syrian observatory of human rights has informed that roughly 30 people were killed in the area where the opposition was held on Saturday. The dead ones were mostly rebels and about a dozen were badly injured.

Qusair is a town inhabiting 30,000 people. It has now become the targeted battleground due to its strategic location. Assad’s fighters want to take down that place since it is the safest way between the capital Damascus and Mediterranean coast. It separated the northern rebels from the south, as well.

The opposite team has returned to the fight. It is important that the path is blocked, and that Assad and his army are refraining from the safe way to deny their victory. If Assad is victorious, then they claim the upper hand in the American peace talk taking place in Russia this year.

Assad’s team has seized more than two third ground of Qusair. They are putting up a high price and rebels are trying, all they could, to keep them away.
