Can Islam coexist with other religions?

There are a number of religions with many believers all around the world. Islam is one of those religions and the second largest region on earth. Before getting into further details, we need to know what are teachings of Islam compared to the other religions. Islam is said to be the religion that is complete in every respect. Islam is that kind of religions that always believes in giving room to other religions.

The power of speech has always been a priority in Islam. Every individual has the right to say what he or she believes but as far as the concept of co –existence with other religions are concerned Islam is that kind of religion that believes in the concept that a person can have only one religion at a time. Either you can be a Muslim or can be a Christian, but you can’t have both religions at once that is basically a concept on which Islam emphasizes.

A very important point is that there are a number of things that are common in most of the religions like murder which is a sin in Islam as well as in other religions. Co-existence basically means that you can have the preaching of two religions. If we look into details, Islam is that kind of religions in which there is margin given to other religions, as well. For example, there are a number of Muslims living in non-Muslim countries, and similarly there are a number of non-Muslims resided in Muslim countries as Islam believes in brotherhood with other religions except for the few extremists.

There are certain limitations defined in Islam in which one has to stay within those limits. Islam is said to be flexible compared to other religions. In the holy Quran Allah has repeatedly said that there should be peace and harmony among all of the religions. Prophet PBUH always focused upon the peaceful living and convinced non-Muslims to be part of Islam. If you read in history, you would come to know there were a number of times when non-Muslims admitted the good way by which Islam treated non Muslims.

The Holy Quran that is the Islamic book that have every aspect of a life through which one can live a successful life, and it is clearly written in Quran that non-Muslims should be treated with respect.
