Stop the Persecution of Muslims in Burma

on Thursday, July 5, 2012

Burning women and children in their homes and neighborhoods and most certainly those who survived from this holocaust will meet their destiny by the sharp tools of the Buddhists, leaving pieces of bodies and blood filling the streets, showing deep hatred against the Muslim minority.

The scene is not new in Burma; this happened before with more or less bloody facts; in a series of crimes that have been committed against Muslims in Burma for the past six decades, amid of the support of the ruling military government and the silence of the international community, till the extermination of the last person in the region, which includes thousands of Muslims who do not hold any nationality living in the north of Rakhine State bordering Bangladesh.

Those thousands of Muslims are facing suppression from the ruling authorities which make them the most subjected to persecution minority in the world, according to the United Nations.

This is the way Muslims live in the province of Arakan who are considered by the Buddhists not from the citizens of their country. A Muslim minority stuck between raging racism and genocidal war with the last wave of violence against them after the spread of a rumor about the rapping of a Buddhist girl. This was a lie denied by the Muslims of the region stressing that only ethnic and political reasons are behind the flamed violence against them.

The story begins after a declaration made by the Government of Myanmar in Burma of granting the citizenship for the Rohingya “the Muslim minority” in Arakan. The declaration was completely unacceptable for the Magen, “the majority Buddhism”. The Magen understand the impact of this decision on the outcome of the vote – in light of the new republican government – and they know that this decision would lead to the spread of Islam.

The Buddhists have saved no effort in organizing conspiracies hiring a number of young killers from outside Burma, specifically from Russia, to begin their plans aiming to change the opinion of the government and its attitude towards the Muslim Rohingya and to visualize them in front of the public opinion and the government as terrorists and outsiders, and this in turn would lead to the reconsideration of the government’s decision of recognizing them as citizens or even the decision would be at least postponed. Moreover, this would create more opportunities for the extermination of those Muslims, with the absence of external public opinion, and the control of the Magens and the police collusion with the Buddhists.
