Women will continue breaching new careers

Some people think that women are like men when we both are assigned to complete a certain job, while others believe that women has a special gift mainly in communication and that makes them more skilled to complete a job. On the other hand, some people believe that women should be working in specific fields such as teaching, nursing and secretary management as these fields fit the nature of a woman, but other fields like engineering does not fit this special nature.

Different associations around the world have been calling for women rights since years. They called for the woman’s right to work in any field and to be paid exactly like a man, and finally we now can see women working in all fields. The woman became a successful engineer, accountant, judge and a president. Of course we can not forget that the woman become an astronaut.

Moreover, we used to see the culture and laws adding restrictions on women’s access to participate in the workforce and there were wage gabs between men and women. In the beginning of the 20th century, women increased participation in workforce to an unexpected limit as four out of five colleges accepted women to be hired afterwards in desk jobs. Thanks to World War one that gave a chance for women to enter the workforce, then came the demand for increasing production to increase the need for women as workers and producers in different factories.

Ladies should not opt for jobs that involve strenuous physical activities, but if it comes to creativity, women can be better than men. Still managerial skills can be found in men more than women as statistics showed that men reserve 71% of positions in high boards of the biggest organizations, and the rest taken by women which is an indicator for decision making becoming more effective when it is made by a man.

Jobs that fit women the most is teaching, as two thirds of kinder garden teachers are women. Also nursing mainly depends on ladies as it needs patience that can be found in a lady more than a man, plus kindness, and medical skills that they earn through different studies.

Ladies began to enter more difficult fields in the last decade and sometimes they proved to have excellent performance in hard professions such as train driving and becoming pilots. Most women prefer working in familiar fields to avoid tough challenges they would not be able to get thorough, keeping in mind that married women are always keen on balancing between work and home.

Another idea dominating a lot of women minds, is marrying a man who is better educated and higher earning, which is an alternative to their employment careers. According to extensive review of previously released studies and statistics, 20% of women decided to marry men with significantly higher levels of education and earning in 1950, then the percentage was almost doubled in 1990 to reach 38%.

Experts believe that sharing the responsibility of raising a child between a man and a woman can not be the ideal situation by all couples, but due to political and economical changes, the couple accepted the idea of sharing the responsibility. Still more responsibilities are on the man’s shoulders and mainly in eastern countries, as the lady will be responsible for raising children more than the man who will always be busy gaining money.

Having a great career, getting married to a smart man, and raising great children are the main three dreams any woman can have. We should say that a woman who thinks she can realize 100% of all these dreams is absolutely wrong. There will always be a kind of shortage in any side of the above mentioned three. For example we see women quitting there jobs to raise their children, while others delay having children till they guarantee a stable career.

After all, women are now half the work force of the world and they proved to be successful and better than men in some fields, but still some professions were not breached. Ladies will never stop entering new fields and they will keep developing and improving skills to meet different career needs.
