During the past couple of years, he has become very famous both in Pakistan and the rest of the world. Imran Khan is one of few politicians who is educated and is eligible to become a successful politician. Pakistan is being ruled by one of the worst democratic governments, and most of the citizens are getting annoyed with the political and economic situations in the country. Many people are looking forward to having Imran Khan as their next President or Prime Minister.
Imran Khan conducted a peace march to the Pakistan’s most neglected tribal areas, Waziristan. His peace march was a message to the U.S. officials to stop the unlawful drone attacks conducted in these areas, and to the people of Waziristan that they are not neglected. The whole world had their eyes on this march. Imran Khan is against drone attacks; according to him they are against the law and are violating certain rules and he says that Pakistan is not America’s land to be invaded. Debates have started all around the world whether the U.S. should put a stop to these drone attacks or not. The drone attacks have killed over thousands of people, which include terrorists, innocent men, women and children. And let’s not forget the accidental attack conducts on Salala check post which killed Pakistani soldiers.
Imran Khan has promised that if he wins the next election he will order the Air force to shoot down every drone plane which comes within the borders. In October, Imran Khan was on his way to New York for a fundraising lunch. As the flight was about to take off, the U.S. officials removed him from the plane and detained him. The U.S. officials detained him for two hours and interrogated him. Imran Khan gave his views and later on was allowed to fly to New York. The detention of Imran khan is unfair because he is a very famous politician in Pakistan. As Imran khan is against the drone attacks of the U.S. he is less popular there. It is a fact that drone attacks are increasing daily and causing casualties and tensions within Pakistan. Therefore, the United Nations should come forward to solve this problem.
