Idol worshipping

Being a Muslim means complete subordination and declaration to Allah Almighty, who is the supreme creator not only of mankind but also the universe. This is the most basic and fundamental part of Islam. Allah almighty is the one and only creator of everything. He has no match and no one can ever challenge his position. He has got all the power of controlling every single particle of this world;  every single breath of ours is at his mercy. There are numerous signs of his existence, but only those who have been bestowed with the Nobel insight by Allah Almighty are able to identify them. From mountains to deep oceans, from a single cell to highly developed and complex individuals, and from deserts to gardens everything speaks about the existence of a supreme creator, that is Allah Almighty.

The biggest miracle, Qur’an, is no doubt  one of the greatest creations of our lord. It tells us about the God of every human and clearly forbids to worship anyone except Allah Almighty. It is mentioned in Qur’an that:

“Recall that Luqmaan said to his son, as he enlightened him, “O my son, do not set up any idols beside GOD; idolatry is a gross injustice.” [31:13]

At another place it is mentioned that:

GOD does not forgive idolatry, but He forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Anyone who sets up idols beside GOD has forged a horrendous offense. [4:48]

In the light of above mentioned verses, it gets very clear that idol worship is not at all acceptable and is a deed that is very much capable of provoking the anger of Allah. Anyone who bows his head in front of others instead of Allah Almighty can never be considered as a Muslim.

Humans need to obey the one who created them along with other forms of life that are there in this planet. It doesn’t seem right to worship idols who themselves are not even capable of supporting themselves. Only Allah deserves to be worshiped because he not only created us, but also provided arrangements for sustaining our lives. Stone statues can’t provide you with air to breath and water to drink, only Allah Almighty has this authority.

It is mentioned in Qur’an that:

“It has been revealed to you and to those before you, that if you ever commit idol worship, all your works will be nullified, and you will be with the losers.” [39:65]

At another place it is mentioned that:

“The places of worship belong to GOD.”

No matter how much a person is pious or well-mannered, all his deeds are worthless if he doesn’t accept Allah Almighty as the one and only creator of this universe. All the hard work done is wasted, and an idol worshipper will have to face bitter consequences in life after death.

[6:162-164] Say, “My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe. He has no partner. This is what I am commanded to believe, and I am the first to submit.” It also say,  “Shall I seek other than GOD as a lord, when He is the Lord of all things? No soul benefits except from its own works, and none bears the burden of another. Ultimately, you return to your Lord, then He informs you regarding all your disputes.”
