Without Substantiation of Chemical Weapons Use

on Thursday, May 2, 2013

David Cameron repeatedly endorsed the statement of President Obama about the use of nuclear weapons by the Syrian Government, but has denied the fact that there are chances that the British forces would be sent to Syria for ground operation.

The British troops will not be leaving for Syria unless there are strong found evidences about the use of the chemical weapons in civil war, Cameron added. Cameron said that there should be enough evidence in order to take any serious steps as the circumstances demands that the decision should be taken in accordance with the need of the time. The prime minister agreed that issue highlighted by President Obama is that kind of issues that needs to be sorted out, but as the Prime minister of England he does not want to get their troops engaged in the operation against the Syrian government.

Talking to BBC in a morning show, Cameron said that it was quite unsettling for them to have the news like this but still they think there are a number of chances that they will be getting more evidences in the future, as well. All of the future steps that would be taken will be decided upon the number of evidences that they would be getting. Cameron said that Britain does not support the use of chemical weapons in the war as it is said to be one of the serious war crimes, and the British government is taking about an issue very seriously. The impact of such crimes is very huge as far as the misuse of the chemical weapons is concerned.

He also said that it more preferred to have some time to think and look into the matter rather than rushing into making a decision. They think that it is very important to verify the evidences before taking any action against the government of Syria. The statement about drawing a red line on this by Obama was appreciated by British prime minister.

Cameron said still a lot to be done in order to have this issue resolved. We are talking to the allies and working with the opposition so that we can come up with a conclusion about this matter because we want this to end as soon as possible, he added. He denied the fact that there could be any chances of the getting the troops on to the ground. The message has been forwarded to the Syrian government as the British government has intimated Syria about the sanction they may have to face. We are exerting pressure on the regime with our allies that the government should be taking strong actions to sort this matter out.

Talking about the past actions of the Government of the UK and the US, the decision on the Iraq was proved to be right as there were evidence provided by the intelligence agencies. He added, we have talked to Bashar al-Assad to allow UN inspectors to have the investigation. On Thursday, the US intelligence report came up, in which it was mentioned that, deadly nerve agent Sarine was used as there were strong found evidences.
