Prince Charles Takes Private Arabic Lessons!

Arabic is a very attractive language and many people are inclined towards learning the language and culture of Middle East. Prince Charles has been disclosed as being one of these people. It emerged during his visit to Qatar that he has been fascinated by the Middle East culture and he has been taking tuition for Arabic language privately for the past six months. Prince tried to keep his fascination about the Arabic language to himself as the news of his private lessons never came out before this visit.

Understanding Arabic language will help to in better understanding of The Holy Quran as Prince is very passionate about dialogues between different religions. This fact was disclosed during Prince’s visit of Qatar for Launch of Qatar-UK alumni association. When he appreciated his audience attending this meeting for speaking good English, Chairman of this association asked Prince if he could speak Arabic. Prince told that he has been taking lessons for this language but he has now given up since he finds Arabic a very difficult language. But he expressed his love for the language. Prince speaks German and French and a little Welsh as well.

The event was basically the launch of the foundation of the association of those Qataris who have attended the British universities. Male and female were dressed in their traditional clothes with women wearing black abayyas whereas male dressed in white from head to toe with a ghitra on their heads. Prince asked them whether they dressed like this while their stay at the universities back in UK. They told prince that in UK, they dressed like other natives and this dress was particular in their country only. The Prince had many important meetings during this tour, he also met with the groups of working Bedouin women who shared their experiences and problems with him.

Middle East has a special romantic and poetic touch to its culture and many get fascinated by its charms. Arabic language itself has a very old history and the literature written in this language is worth reading. All the great work of literature in the Arab history is now becoming easily available. Although translations are also available, Arabic is such a language that things loose some of their beauty when they are translated to other languages. So those interested in this literature are keen towards learning the language, as they can enjoy the beautiful poems and heroic stories in their own form. Another factor that adds to the importance of Arabic is that it is  the language of prayers for billions of Muslims around the globe.
