ISLAM AND NON-BELIEVERS

Islam is one of the world’s largest religions and has followers all over the world. Since the rise of this religion, Islam has always taught equality, love, peace and brotherhood to every one. Before the rise of Islam, people were highly ignorant. Women were treated badly, and the unborn female foetuses were buried alive just because of their gender. After the creation of Islam, there were peace, love and respect, and women were given special rights in the religion and respect. Islam preached its teaching in a peaceful manner although the Muslim preachers faced a lot of resistance. Non Muslims have always been given respect and space in Islam. During the era when Islam was spreading all over the world, non-Muslims were not forced to accept Islam nor was Islam spread by the use of sword; rather it was preached on the basis of its teaching and love.

The Prophet (PBUH) mentioned at every step that no Muslim has any right to harm a non-Muslim or their place of worship. Non-Muslims in a Muslim state have all the rights to practice their religion and to perform all the rituals and traditions. They were given equal rights in education and employed on the basis of merit and not on religion. The last summon of the Prophet (PBUH) was a great example of the rules and regulations set by Him for the treatment of non-Muslims. He (PBUH) declared openly that every non-Muslim has the complete freedom regarding their religion and all other aspects of life. It was made compulsory for the Muslims to preach their religion and to convince the non believers to accept Islam; but, never to force it upon them.

In the present world, there are many Muslim countries accommodating non-believers. Those non-believers have never been restricted by the Muslims and this is what Islam teaches us to do. Equality, respect, freedom of expression and love is the message of Muslims for the followers of all other religion and this is what make Islam the most acceptable religion.
