It pains me to present this bitter truth but it is widely accepted prevalent that whenever a girl is spotted with hijab in the West, she is immediately taken as an extremist Muslim who has got links with the terrorist groups. This obviously seems so simply stupid and absurd but these are exactly the thoughts that are aroused in the minds of the people in the West. Hence, they will do all in their power to force that woman give up her hijab. The people will tease her even with their looks. Being the odd one out she will be constantly stared upon and will be given grave and alarming looks by everyone as if she is an alien. She will be denied jobs and will have to face immense prejudices and taunting remarks of her instructors as well as class fellows. Hence, the entire world will be made tight upon her and full attempts will be made to bind her in a curfew.
What kind of people would do that to a person? Those who are the flag bearers of justice, equality, peace, love, harmony, etiquettes, advancement, and modernity? Those whose educational institutions teach that one should say nothing without solid proof and verification? Those whose educational institutions constantly lecture that no one should be judged on the basis of their looks, attire, faith, religion, ethnicity, nationality, language, and accent?
Where goes their justice and equality when they blame every single Muslim to be a terrorist without giving any proof? Where go their laws when they put a Muslim to jail as a ‘suspect terrorist’ for year and years and then release him/her after him making him/her a complete psychopath as no proof could be found for his/her terrorist activities? Unfortunately, this is a very dismal saga of every Muslim living in the West ever since the incident of September 11 in America.
Although the real culprit of the incident has not been found as yet but perhaps America never even wanted to find that. It cleverly went on to play the 9/11 card so as to have a license to create a propaganda against Islam brutally choke down every single Muslim that came its way.
The so-called great ethnic ‘melting pot’; America has always claimed to ensure security and justice of everyone but has cleverly ignored and obscured all those incidents where Muslims have been targeted and unduly jailed without any crime. The example of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui from Pakistan is a crystal clear example. She felt insecure in America after the incident of 9/11 and flew to her motherland.
However, she was arrested on Karachi airport merely in the name of a ‘suspect terrorist’. Her crime could never be found and no proofs could be presented for her so-called terrorist activities. Despite that she has been sentenced a lifelong jail by the American court. She is shut up in the horrible jail of Gwanta Namo Bay, deprived off with her clothes and is treated horrendously. Surely, justice and equality can never be said to prevail in a country, which treats innocent humans with such an inhumane behavior.
