U.S. and the Muslim World in 2012

on Sunday, February 17, 2013

The United States has always extended its arms towards the Muslim world to attain respect and dignity across the world. In the previous years. Although, Muslims have not stayed in the good books of Americans after the series of attacks on the integrity of U.S.

2012— Again a critical year in terms of bonding between the two titans. Although both poured in efficacious efforts to brighten the mindsets which have displayed hindrances in achieving cordial terms, it all ended in smoke as the later quarter of the year was full of violent activities.

Muslims are a part of America as they have been migrating to the U.S. since the 1960s. Today, they comprise 1 percent of America’s total population and reside in the main cities such as New York, Washington DC, New Jersey, San Francisco etc. thus, it is of paramount importance that both must encompass cordial terms for the peace and progress of the people.

In the later quarter of 2012, the outrageous filming of an anti-Islamic film had deeply grieved the Muslim sentiments. The film named “innocence of Muslims” portrayed a false image of the beloved Prophet (peace and blessings upon him). This action was not taken easy by Muslims as they are ready to give up their lives for their beloved Prophet (peace and blessings upon him). Muslims raised their voices against the brutality, stormed U.S. embassies in all countries, killed down U.S. ambassador Christopher and three other Americans in Benghazi etc.  The ties of relations faced the toughest crises of the recent times, later U.S. president Obama condemned the filming of “innocence of Muslims” and cooled the situation down.

Surely 2012 has seen some of the most dreadful incidents which deteriorated U.S. terms with the Muslim world. Also, the continuity of unleashing drone attacks in Pakistan’s northern region earned the U.S. bad reviews from the general public. The drones have been killing several innocents in the name of war and were not liked by the people in the Muslim world as it shed the blood of many innocent family members.

In the year 2012, the U.S. faced crises in terms of the Muslim world, including the loss of soldiers’ lives in Afghanistan such as the trained armed forces of the Taliban who were to safeguard their own people turned their back towards U.S. forces and blew them up. The U.S. didn’t let such incidents affect its policies toward the Muslim world, and it continued to provide consensus in order to have cordial terms.

Currently, the relations between the United States and the Muslims are critical. The rough patch is visible, but the governments try hard to overcome the prevailing grave problems. The filming of anti-Islamic movie, unleashing of drone attacks, invading into the territories by the U.S. and violent protests from the Muslims have surely made it difficult to achieve the ideal peace and harmony between the two.

President Obama’s belief in combining all people together irrespective of race, color and religion is still strong ,and Muslim countries are also trying their best to heal.
