Calm Atmosphere in Muslim Countries After The Clip “Innocence of Muslims”: YouTube Will Be Back!

on Sunday, February 17, 2013

A trailer of the movie, “Innocence of Muslims” created by Sam Bacile was posted on YouTube a couple of months ago, and it caused great turbulence in the Muslim world. It was a short 14-minute amateur clip that was created on purpose by Bacile to cause problems all over the world. Not only did Americans have to face problems, but Muslims were devastated by such a blasphemous scene.

In this movie, Bacile portrayed the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in an in an inappropriate manner. He depicted him as a womanizer. There was also a sex scene that enraged Muslims because it was an insult to Islam and Muslims all over the world. A couple of hours after this movie was posted, YouTube was immediately banned in Muslim countries. Muslims were heated because no individual knows what the Prophet (PBUH) looks like. There is no one that can create an image of him and no one should try to create an image of him because it is a great sin. There were many protests carried out by the Muslim people to ban the video and punish Bacile for the crime that he committed.

In Pakistan, there were violent mobs of people that were furious. During the protest, around 19 people died and around 160 people were injured. The people in Islamabad burned buses, cars, and became violent because this anti-Muslim movie had scenes that were incorrect and insulting. Muslims in Pakistan created a national holiday and celebrated known as the Day of Love for Muhammad (PBUH). However, the violence did not stop and there were shootings at the television station in Karachi. This shooting caused around 14 deaths that day. People stopped buying food from foreign food chains such as KFC, Subway, and McDonalds, and schools were closed for two days straight. This movie caused so many issues and people died fighting, so that the movie could be banned for good.

In Bangladesh, many Muslims gathered on the streets of Dhaka. They burned a symbolic coffin for Barrack Obama and there was also an American flag covering this coffin. All the Muslims chanted, “Death to the United States and death to the French”.

What was Bacile thinking? Was he out of his mind? He created chaos through his ridiculous movie, infuriated Muslims, and he put it on YouTube for everyone to see. What did he get from creating all this madness? He could have caused a nuclear war, and because of his movie many people lost their lives.

Now that the madness is over, YouTube will be back up for Muslim countries to utilize and people will be able to enjoy their favorite shows, music videos, and news online. Things have calmed down, but Muslims have not forgotten about this event. Let’s just hope that nothing like this ever happens again. YouTube is something that many people enjoy using in Muslim countries, but the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is greater than any website. People can live without YouTube, but they cannot live without such a wonderful religion, Islam.
