Everything in this universe is the creation of all mighty Allah. The sky, the land, the oceans and the sun all creatures belong to Allah. Among all the creatures, Allah has given superiority to the human being. Allah has given man everything to be called super creatures and it is the duty of all human beings to obey the orders of Allah.

Allah states: “we have indeed created man in the best of moulds” (Surah At-teen: 4)

Without any doubt, God knows what is best for us as humans and what is harmful for our health. For this, Allah has set some laws in which humans can clearly identify what is good for them and what is against the orders of Allah. According to Quran and Shariah, alcohol is strictly prohibited in Islam.

The Quran states: “They ask thee concerning wine and gambling, say: in them is a great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than profit” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 219)

In the Arabic language which is the language of the holy book Quran, the word alcohol is called “Khamr”. Keeping in mind the Quran and Sharia, it is a great sin for human beings especially for Muslims to use alcoholic drinks in their routine life.

In Islam, it is strictly prohibited to sell alcohol even to non Muslims so trading in alcohols in general is not allowed in Islam. Keeping in mind this restriction, despite getting the license from the government for selling alcohols or for running a pub, all the income you would get from this business would be considered as Haram. You will have to pay for this on the Day of Judgment and Allah has clearly mentioned hard punishment for alcoholic users and sellers.

It is worth to say that there are many health and social issues related to the use of alcoholic drinks. The first and the major drawback, of using alcoholic drinks, is “it is considered as the major cause of violence and corruption in the society”. People who drink alcohol can create problems that are linked to killing, stealing money, corruption, rape and other unlawful activities. The alcohol affects the human mind directly. It leads to the lose the mind, and the use of abusive language, which creates a sense of hatred among the people, they forget their duties and responsibilities and they can even stop worshiping God. Indeed it is an evil act, and it is not acceptable in any religion.

Medically proved that they are very dangerous to the human lungs, and excessive use of alcoholic drinks leads to cancer and other hazardous diseases. A research shows that more than 3000 people died in Australia due to the use of alcoholic drinks in their daily life. Every year more than 2500 people get brain damage for the same reason.
