Lawful Earning in Islam

on Thursday, January 17, 2013

Islam has prescribed a duty to lawfully earn money to each and every Muslim. In order to provide for the family, we should always try to earn money the right way. If we want to earn a living, it is essential that we work hard for it. There are numerous individuals in this world that tend to earn money from means that have been prohibited by Allah. When a person earns money by engaging in activities such as  gambling, cheating, stealing, they may begin to notice that Allah has stopped showering them with His Blessings. These people begin to love earning money the haram way and this makes them into compulsive sinners.

Allah showers blessings on people who work day and night to earn money in halal ways. They will not have to face near as many hardships both in this life and the one hereafter as those who earn their living in a haram way.

There are times when we, as humans, have the desire to purchase expensive thingssuch as a big house, a fast car, or beautiful clothes  for ourselves. Well, unfortunately, not all of us are able to afford these nice things and therefore have to resort to a much simpler lifestyle. In such situations, people should not get dejected and always rely on Allah to provide for them. If they work hard and have constant faith in Allah then he will continue to increase his blessings and one day they may be able to afford their dream car and a stylish new home that you have always desired. The main goal is to work hard and always shoot towards earning a halal income that will make Allah proud of you.

Those individuals that earn money from haram means usually develop a sense of greed and love for money. These are people who tend to experience many problems later on in life and get stuck in the way. People should know that the wealth that they have acquired by wrong means will not last them a long time and will eventually backfire on them, both in this world and the one hereafter. In such circumstances, the individual will be left lonely and hopeless in the end and will regret ever engaging in haram ways to make money.

If one wishes to live a happy life in which they have the constant support of Allah, it is best for them to earn a halal income. If we put in all our effort into being honest and earning the right way we will always be happy and Allah will be proud of us regardless of how much we earn. It is imperative that we realize that this worldly life is only for a short period of time and the life in the hereafter is the one that we should prepare for. In order to go towards the path of heaven, we should obey Allah and never rely on earning by haram means to support our family members.
