Why don’t we see gatherings at the mosques?

As far as my knowledge is concerned, the concept of a mosque is quite bigger than it is actually perceived. A lot of people think that the mosque is that kind of place where you only have to say your prayer, but in reality mosques do have some other things to offer to the Muslim community. As we all know that every Muslim go to the mosque to pray, but the important aspect of saying the prayer at the mosque is the communication between the Muslim brotherhoods. Islam is that kind of religion that strongly believes in having good communication among the people. It is the blessing of God that the Muslims are given a place like mosques where they can not only perform the religious practice, but they can also share their views and can have discussions.

Facts about Imams

Unfortunately, most of the facts are quite disappointing as far as the religious affairs of the mosques and the Muslims activities are concerned. The fact that the reasons behind having mosques in Islam are not realized by many Muslims can be clearly understood by knowing that only 44% of the imams are fully employed by the mosque management committee. Imams are those individuals who lead the Muslims in a prayer. Many Muslims are not fully indulged in the religious teachings as Islam is a kind of religion that covers all aspects of a successful life but for that it is highly required that one should spend more time in mosques. This impact can be seen in the young generation as they see the mosque a place where they only have to say their prayers.

What is actually happening?

According to the teachings of Islam, Mosques should be constructed far away from each other. If we look into the logic behind this thought, you would come to know that Islam emphasizes upon the gathering of the Muslims community as the more number of people gathering in the mosque, the higher the number of chances that the individuals get the knowledge about Islam. It does not mean that one should not be going to the mosque, but the point here to mention is that you don’t often have to go to the same mosque; people normally prefer to have their prayer in the particular mosque.

What could be done?

There are a number of people who are attracted towards the teachings of Islam and the number of people are growing higher day by day. As Muslims, we need to have fruitful conversations with the people who are seeking for the knowledge of the Islam as Muslims are the ones that have to carry on the teachings of Islam.
