We should not be expecting any major changes as far as the relations between Iran and US are concerned. It is expected that Iran will go on with its nuclear program, but anything like a war is far from expectations. US will go on negotiating the matter with Iran to discourage its nuclear program and the deployment of its weapons. No attack from US is expected even if Iran deploys them.

For the past thirty-six years, things are not normal between Iran and the United States and even now, there seems to be no end to this and the latest issue which has triggered the tensions, between these two countries, is the on-going nuclear program of Iran. Although there are disagreements between both the countries, yet both of them do not want to waste their resources in a war on this issue.

The US President said that ” he thinks it is needed to declare the emergency against Iran”, which had been declared previously on 14th of November in 1979. In response to this claim of Barack Obama, Ayatollah Ali Khomeini who is the supreme leader of Iran said that a country like America has no right to become the prosecutor of others. Same goes for England and France.

The policy of the US seems to be clear. Barack Obama won the elections and it was in his manifesto to put an end to all the US wars against countries in West Asia and the Middle East, and he also made a commitment to resolve this issue concerning the nuclear program of Iran without any involvement of the military which means that there will be bans and pressure. Perhaps they will try to affect its economy and isolate the country, and there will be further bans on trade.

The government of Iran does not seem to have any evil motives associated with its nuclear weapons other than its safety and for other peaceful purposes. They are not trying to reach the point where they can immediately assemble their weapons against anyone. Still, it has been working on making its nuclear program a success. They are enriching the nuclear materials. They are doing simulations, and they are even developing some weapons which are not against the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The Government of Iran has been talking to the US, the EU and the IAEA in this matter.

The Iranian re-actions, which could lead to precipitation of martial confrontation, can be the increase in the rate of enriching uranium or refusal to making any negotiations. Still, what is evident is that Iran is working on assembling the nuclear bomb whether it is for its safety or defense or for threatening Israel. The US can attack the Iranian sites using aircrafts, but that will result in bitter relations and military involvement. What the US Government said was that they will try to resolve the issue with negotiations. It seems that even if they are not willing to accept a new nuclear nation, they will be forced to live with it as any war is beyond comprehension taking into account the impact of events that happened in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The two countries have been standing loyal to mostly one notion when it comes to each other; their severed diplomatic ties. Since the abduction of some 50 American diplomats by Iranian students back in 1980, Iran and the US have not seen the friendly side of each other.

The tussle had its seeds sown way back in the 80s Reagan administration when sanctions were laid on Iran as a result of the aforementioned hostage crisis. Iranian assets worth more than $10 billion were frozen, and all economic ties were ended. The situation was further intensified when US supported Iraq in the Iraq-Iran war of the 80s and later on by the infamous Hezbollah Bombings of 1983.

It is tough to stay fair to all the aspects that have had an effect on the relations between US and Iran since the list goes on. US and allies advocate that Iran’s support towards Hezbollah is intolerable and should be stopped, which Tehran has given no heed to so far. Iran’s continuous and persistent opposition of Israel on all possible grounds has always been the fire starter as the US has always purported their alliance as an unwavering friendship while Iran, on the other hand, labels Israel as their sworn enemy. Iranian president Ahmedinejad has voiced threats against Israel on countless occasions. Denying Israel as a state, the supreme leadership of Iran has gone as far as calling the war against Israel as a duty that would end only when Israel is completely wiped off the map.

The United States, has voiced concerns against Iran’s pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and their nuclear program has been criticized all over the international community. The air of mistrust had led both countries to shoot each other on a small scale; for example, when some Iranian officials were arrested in Baghdad by the American forces, or when the US army attacked Iranian consulate in Irbil. The attack was aided by an American belief that Iran is aiding and arming insurgents. The situation has worsened to the level that now all Iranian interests in the United States are handled through the Pakistani embassy.

Iran is under a constant arms ban along with a total economic embargo imposed by America. The stringent policy includes sanctions on any company doing business with Iran, and direct sanctions against Iran Air and Tidewater Middle East Co. a company that runs Iranian ports. This is due to the belief that Iran has been supplying aid to insurgents and terrorists around the Middle East, and the fact that Iran has once chided that it would be quite easy for them to close down the Persian Gulf. America’s view is to impose heavy bans on Iran’s energy sources that provide about 80% of the country’s revenues, all the property of Central Bank of Iran was frozen by the US in 2012.

The recent developments have not been seen by analysts as good tidings and the two countries might not be moving anywhere away from the feared and oft-mentioned war.

Here is a brief account of some traits that should be avoided in order to build and maintain the strong and good interpersonal relationships among the Muslims. The traits include; Hasad i.e Jealousy, Bughdh i.e Hate, Bukhl i.e Miserliness, Ghaibah i.e backbiting, Kibr i.e arrogance and conceit, cheating, lying, calling names, deception, faultfinding, taunting, trustworthiness lack, manipulation as well as dependability lack. These are some qualities or habits that are immensely dangerous for Muslim society as well as interpersonal relationships.

In addition to above mentioned qualities and characteristics, there are also some traits and qualities that may result in the weakness of interpersonal relationships. These traits include; openness lack, clear communication lack, exploitation, controlling behavior and dominating, contempt, promises break, harshness, rudeness, roughness, irritability, impatience, making fun, cultural and linguistic chauvinism, slavish worship, power arrogance, status and wealth or other like things etc. This was a brief account of a few traits and characteristics that need to be avoided at any cost in order to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships among the Muslims to strengthen the society. But, unfortunately the Muslims are not paying proper attention on this teaching of Islam.
