Concept of Social Justice

on Tuesday, April 9, 2013

In a society where everybody has freedom of speech is said to be a society that allows an individual to have points of views. The society that has social justice is defined by the supporters that are normally advocates. There are some principles followed in a society where there is social justice. Equality and solidarity are the two major principles that would be seen in a society where there is social justice.

Defining the policies is the responsibility of the state but to have them implemented there is also some role to be played by the citizens. If we particularly discuss the situation of social justice in the countries that are developed, then it would be rather unfair not to mention the United Kingdom as one of those states that have very strong laws of social justice. Society will always prosper when there are rights given to every individual. There is always a provision of amendments in the laws defined by the state, but all of these are done according to the circumstances. As far as the situation of social justice in the United Kingdom, it is concerned there is complete protection of the social justice provided to every individual. People from different parts of the world reside in the UK for different purposes.

The question is how can you have an idea about the social justice in the country? Social justice can be well judged by the fact that there should be no injustice in the society. Every individual, whether the native of the country or a foreigner, should be provided with protection by the laws. Every individual has a dignity that needs to be protected. There are strategies defined in the laws entitled with the social justice.

But from last three years or so United Kingdom has faced problems regarding the social justice issues of the society. The overall bad economic condition may have some role to play as there are not much employment opportunities created by the government. Now the government of the United Kingdom is taking steps to cope with these kinds of issues and how to be resolved. The social justice cabinet committee is working on the issues, and there are few things that are highlighted by the committee. We will look into these details.

The government is trying to transform the lives of their people by looking at the issues from where the problems are originating. The government is supporting the families by providing them with education and support. Young people should be focused on, and they have to be put on the right track. Most of the adults that are off track should be brought back on it. There should be multiple adopted approaches to tackle multiple disadvantages, as well. There is a need of strong local partnerships so that the right environment could be created. There should be some rule of the new social economy.

Social Injustice and Terrorism

on Saturday, November 24, 2012

Terrorism is wrong. It should be condemned in every circumstance. Terrorism could come in the form of a radical Christian killing an abortion doctor, a man blowing up a building to express discontent with the American government, or radical Muslims killing in the name of God.

On July 7, 2005, dozens of London commuters were killed when four bombs were detonated on London’s mass transit system. Please understand that I am not condoning these attacks. They were horrible atrocities that killed innocent civilians. Terrorism is never an appropriate means of giving a voice to social injustice, but in the quest to end terrorism, I want to take a look at what two of the perpetrators of the London bombings said in their videos in the days before the attacks.

“I and thousands like me are forsaking everything for what we believe. Our drive and motivation doesn’t come from tangible commodities that this world has to offer. Our religion is Islam, obedience to the one true God and following the footsteps of the final prophet messenger. Your democratically-elected governments continuously perpetuate atrocities against my people all over the world. And your support of them makes you directly responsible, just as I am directly responsible for protecting and avenging my Muslim brothers and sisters. Until we feel security you will be our targets and until you stop the bombing, gassing, imprisonment and torture of my people we will not stop this fight. We are at war and I am a soldier. Now you too will taste the reality of this situation.”

“What have you witnessed now is only the beginning of a string of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq. And until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel.”

Despite what our emotions may tell us, a terrorist attack is rarely an isolated event that is unconnected to a tragedy occurring in another part of the world. In the case of the London bombing tragedy, the terrorists were trying to raise awareness of the human rights violations in Palestine under the Israeli apartheid, which is supported by Britain and the United States, as well as the unwanted wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Osama bin Laden said that there will be no peace for America until there is peace for Palestine; this was one of his motives for masterminding the September 11 attacks. Sayyed al-Qatb, whose writings greatly influenced bin Laden, was incited by the ill-effects of Westernization. The motive behind the Mumbai hotel bombing in 2008 was the Pakistani struggle over Kashmir, as well as the plight of Palestinians.

Terrorism is never acceptable. The United States government refuses to cooperate with terrorists. The social injustice aspect of their message is getting lost, while terrorism is only increasing. Perhaps in the struggle to end terrorism, we should examine these issues that they are trying to bring to light through violence. And instead of invading Iran (as Israel wants the United States to do) or scratching our heads as to what went wrong in Iraq and Afghanistan and why terrorism is only increasing, we should work towards resolving these complex issues.

A Relation Between East And West Through Social Websites

on Thursday, August 16, 2012

Ten years before, there was not any beforehand apparatus of communication, through which people can share information, news of their religion and other relevant knowledge with each other. But in this age of advance technology and the internet, abounding amusing networking has been developed. Social networking sites are basically the platforms on which social networks build between and among people. Through these sites, people share their interest, background, knowledge and other things with each other. Basically, social networking sites are the connecting tools between and among the people of different societies, cultures and countries. The most popular social networking sites of today’s age are Facebook and tweeter. The social networking sites can also be known as social media forums. People have a general question that how Facebook and other social media forums can help to integrate Muslims and West.

This question can be answered by observing the today’s era in which Facebook and other social media forums are helping to integrate Muslims and West. Through the social networking sites, people from the different societies connect each other. By this social connection, people from the West can know about the Muslim religion, its values, customs and all other things about it. Because of these social media forums such as Facebook and Twitter, many people from the Western countries have converted their religion into Islam.

In this way, social networking websites make it possible to connect Muslims and Non-Muslims with each other. They share their interests and activities across religious, political, economical, and geographical borders. A lot of online communities have been created, which have spread the Islamic activities throughout the world, especially in the West. Facebook and other social networking tools are increasing the impact of one society and culture on another society.

We can observe that, because of the social media forums, culturization is also taking place between and among societies. The social media forum is an online platform that focuses on the building of social networks between Muslims and the West. Through emails and instant messages, one person either Muslim or Non-Muslim can better understand about the other people’s religions and his life style. It has been seen that when Non-Muslims hear about the religion of Muslims through instant messages, they find it interesting and want to enter the boundaries of Islam. They start to adopt the Islamic values, customs and other activities. Non-Muslims feel very good by knowing about the purity of Islam; they want to offer prayers, reciting Quran, perform Hajj and want to do fasting as well.

A report says that 50% western and other people regularly enter into the arena of Islam, and adore its authentic. So we can say that Facebook and other social media forums can help to integrate Muslims and West. They build a connection between East and West.   In short media and social media has a big role to play to bridge the gap between Muslims and West.
