When Karzai was interviewed in the presidential palace in Kabul in Afghanistan, he mentioned that Mullah Omar has all the potential to become the president of the country. He also alleged that he is fit for the presidential post which enhanced his hopes of winning the position this year. Mullah Muhammad Omar, the supreme and powerful commander in Afghanistan holds equal importance among Talibans. It is reported that Omar is responsible for $10 million bonus from the US. Hamid Karzai, the president of Afghanistan wants Mr. Omar to contest for the next elections. He wants the people of the Taliban lay down the arms and ammunition and involve in the elections deeply. Karzai took all the pain in travelling to Qatar to discuss this matter. Recently, the Afghan government permitted the Talibans to start their office in Qatar with a condition to cease terrorism, and any association with al Qaeda has to be broken.

While discussing this issue, the president mentioned that the problem to fight against terrorism lies with Pakistan and the real problem has not been discussed yet. Coming to elections for the year 2014, he mentioned that these elections will be the turning point in the history of Afghanistan which will try to infiltrate the troops from entering the country.

As the term of the president is coming to an end, he is not eligible to contest in the elections according to the rules and regulations of the constitution. Mr. Karzai also complained that his country and the government have been disliked by the countries in the West. He mentioned that he wants to improve the relationship and will strive forwards for it. Further, he added that his country should not be considered as mere objects and people should treat them with respect as allies.

Karzai also visited few other places including the Gulf Arab. The US ally conciliated the fights and conflicts in the countries with Muslim populations and in Arab. This was followed by a discussion to come into an agreement to settle all the issues related to Afghanistan, Talibans, Pakistan and the United States.

All these efforts will certainly improve the current status of the country and the future prospects looks good as Mr. Omar is likely to win the elections.

President Obama was back in office on Wednesday the 7th of November, 2012; he had taken some time off from office for his campaigning in the U.S. Presidential Election.

Obama went to his hometown, Chicago, where he celebrated his victory. He received a standing ovation as he visited hundreds of campaign staffers, some of whom scrambled on top of desks to get a better view of him.

Obama, now has an opportunity to change the way his administration operates and expand the agenda it pursues. Almost immediately, he will address a host of expected departures in his senior staff, giving him the chance to fill out the top levels of his administration with new people best suited to achieve his second-term ambitions.

“There’s a lot of flexibility in how you do it,” said Martha Kumar, a Towson University professor of political science who specializes in presidential transitions. “You work with what you’ve got and the environment you’re in, and right now for this president that’s the fiscal-cliff issues.”

The campaign season has effectively frozen the business of Washington for much of the past year. Obama now faces a year-end fiscal showdown with a Congress largely unchanged by the recent election, as well as his own second-term staffing issues in the White House and at key Cabinet agencies (WP, Obama,8).

The Republican Party definitely needs to analyze what went wrong in their campaigning. And that’s got to be a wake-up call for a lot of my Republican colleagues.”

Obama is enjoying his victory which has provided him with the chance to rule the United States for the second term, as well. Obama was seen in his hometown along with his family, meeting his fellowmen and expressing his gratitude and acknowledging his obligations to his country.

Is Obama a Muslim?

With the U.S. presidential elections which are scheduled to be held in next November 2012 are approaching the debate about the religion of the United States President Barack Obama is renewed.

It is explicit that the number of Americans who believe that President Obama is a Muslim is increasing everyday and this belief is causing its believers to announce that they will not give Obama their votes to take over for a second term.

In fact according to an American poll that was conducted and recently published by the Forum on Religion and Public Life by the Pew Research Center, one of the well known American social and religious research entities in the US, that one out of every three Americans who are enrolled in the Republican Party said that Obama is a Muslim.

This conducted poll showed a double increase in the percentage of believers that Obama is a Muslim from the percentage shown by the similar conducted poll when president Obama first came to the White House in 2008.

According to the poll, 17 percent of the Americans who participated in the poll – all of whom are registered voters – considered that Obama is a Muslim, and 49% of them said he is a Christian, while 31% of them unaware of the religious believe of president Obama.

Moreover, the results of the poll showed a decline in the number of Americans who believe that Obama is a Muslim from year 2010, where the percentage dropped from 19% to 17% nowadays, but the percentage has increased significantly among the Conservatives and Republicans by 34%.

This poll also included the same questions about the religious believe and background of the Republican Party nominee to the White House, Mitt Romney, who belongs to a religious group that is commonly called Mormons which is related to Mormonism – a religious minority that is followed only by 1.7% of the Americans, with 76% of them live in the western states of the US and are mostly concentrated in Utah, where they form 58% of the total population of this state.

The questions about Mitt Romney’s religion showed that more Americans know that Mitt Romney is Mormon. In the Poll, 60 percent of the participants have correctly answered the question about his religion, while 9 percent said “other” and 31 percent answered that they didn’t know what his religion is.

Sixty percent of those who said he was a Mormon were comfortable with his religion, 21 percent didn’t care and 19 percent were uncomfortable.

Mohamed Morsi has been named the first ever civil elected president that came as a result of fair elections. After such a long wait, we finally have a president that was elected by the people. Whether you disagree or agree with him (I strongly disagree) but he has won the elections fair with a 51.5% while Ahmed Shakif scored 48.5%

So this is a great win for the Muslim Brotherhood as they have finally reached the big chair, the presidential chair. I am considered in the line of the opposition, but none the less, I will not attack Mohamed Morsi just for the sake of it. I will only attack him resulting from his performance. He asked for 100 days to achieve great things and I have agreed to give him that period to see what he has to offer. I disagree strongly with the whole ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood, but it is what the people choose so we will have to wait and see what this choice would do.

Judging from what has happened so far, things are looking up. Not that I am totally happy with Mohamed Morsi now but as I said, I will not prejudge and I will judge according to actions. OF course he might be just softening the people at the beginning before his true plans come in play, but I can’t see the future so ill judge him one step at a time. Who knows, maybe all my fears and accusations towards him are false, I will be the first one to be glad about it and apologize.

First of all, he has stated the prohibition of any pictures of him to be put in government hall or offices as he is an employer like any other. Which is a great point because this is how dictators are made, by people who worship them and think of them as the owners of the country. Mohamed Morsi 1-0 My fears. Then he has announced that he will repeat the Mubarak trial because he sees that the results have been manipulated with and are not fair. Despite the fact that I don’t know if a president can actually make such thing, because as much as I understand, courts are independent form the authority of the president and the govt. It can still be considered as a sign of good well on his behalf.

This doesn’t mean I am a supporter of Morsi, he still has a long way for that I’m just stating what he has done so far. He has a lot to cover and a lot to prove. He has to prove he will do what he said he will and he also has to prove that the Muslim Brotherhood is not controlling Egypt because they are not the president, but he is. So keep up with my blog posts as I will keep watching him closely to monitor his performance.

President Joachim Gauck has said in a newspaper interview that Muslims living in Germany are more definitively a part of the country than the religion of Islam, a slight change from the stance of his predecessor.

When asked about a quote from the previous president, Christian Wulff – who had said that "Islam is now also a part of Germany" – Gauck told the newspaper Die Zeit that he would not have used this particular sentence, adding "but I do welcome the intent behind it."

"I would have simply said that the Muslims who are living here are a part of Germany," Gauck said in an interview published in the current edition of the weekly paper. He elaborated further, defining what he considers the most important factor for people with immigrant roots to be part of Germany.

"Anybody who has come here and doesn't just pay their taxes, but also likes to be here, partly because there's a level of justice and freedom not available in their country of origin, they are all one of us; so long as they adhere to our basic rules," Gauck said.

But more generally, the president said he thought "one-sentence formulations on belonging" were problematic, "and especially when they concern something as delicate as religion."

The co-leader of the Green Party, Cem Özdemir, said in the Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper on Friday that he "can not understand this differentiation between Islam and practicing Muslims," adding that if Gauck considers Muslims a part of Germany, "then of course Islam is part of Germany too."
