The literal meaning of interest is the money paid for borrowing money, or the rent on money, and it is always according to a fixed ratio. It is known by every living person and interest has become completely institutionalized and it is commonly accepted in every modern economy. Most of the people accept dealing in interest except for Muslims. Devout Muslims stay away from dealings that involve interest.

The reason why Muslims refuse to receive and pay interest is that Islam has strictly forbidden such practice. But this is not considered by Muslims like any kind of a harsh restriction, they know that staying away from interest dealing is directly or indirectly benefiting them. They believe that all Islamic teachings are based on wisdom, knowledge and justice and there are sound reasons for every single thing is Islam. So the forbidding of interest has some reasons, some of which we are able to see.

When you read the Islamic texts about interest, you will come to know how strict the warnings are against dealing in interest (both receiving and paying). Islam condemns many acts, like adultery, fornication, consuming alcohol, murder and homosexuality. But the extent to which interest is condemned in Islam is on another level and Sayyid Qutb has written that Usury is more strongly denounced than any other issue. It has even been compared to having sexual relations with your mother.

The Quran gives a strong warning to people who deal with interest and warns them of the hellfire.

The dealings of stock are permitted in Islam, Muslims can buy and sell shares in the stock market and make a healthy living through it. But it is important to note that not all types of share are allowed in Islam. Common shares are allowed in Islam but preference shares are prohibited. The reason being that common shares don’t have a fixed rate of return, and the shareholders will receive dividends according to the company’s profits. On the other hand preference shares are more like loans that companies take from the general public. Preference shares have a fixed rate of return and the profitability of the company does not affect the dividends. Furthermore there are two types of preference share, cumulative shares and non-cumulative shares, both of which are condemned in Islam. In case of cumulative shares if the company incurs a loss and cannot make dividend payments they will have to pay the accumulated amount next year. But in case of non-cumulative shares if the company incurs a loss and the company is not able to make the interest payment, they will not have to pay the accumulated amount next year.

Preference share dividends are more like interest payments because both have a fixed rate and the profit on both is guaranteed.

Billions of people from all over the world celebrate the Christmas holiday on December 25. This day is widely observed as a holiday in various countries. It is primarily celebrated by the Christians. Christians from all over the world illuminate their homes with different colors of lights, put up a beautiful Christmas tree and exchange gifts with one another. Christians believe that the 25th of December is the birth date of Jesus Christ. We, as Muslims, believe that Jesus PBUH is a messenger of Allah almighty, but it is not clear that December 25 is his date of birth. Various scholars give different opinions regarding the birthday of Jesus.

Muslims Celebrate Christmas

Some Muslim families also celebrate Christmas day with their Christian friends and neighbors. They also illuminate their houses with candles and put up Christmas trees as well as share various gifts with their Christians friends and relatives. As a Muslim, one must remember that Christians considered the Prophet Jesus as the son of God, which is considered shirk in our religion of Islam. They celebrate December 25 as a date of birth of God’s son, which is a totally wrong statement according to the teachings of Islam. It is clear from the various verses of the Quran that Allah Almighty is one, he is nor the father nor the son of anyone.

Do Muslims Celebrate Christmas – Islamic Point Of View

Due to these beliefs, Muslims are not allowed to celebrate this occasion. Christmas day is not only an occasion of another religion, but it is also against the teachings of Islam as well as against the Hades of our Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH. According to the Islamic point of view, it is a great sin to have a belief in God having a son. As Muslims, we must be careful regarding this matter. We  must only believe that the Prophet Jesus is a messenger and servant of Allah Almighty.

Various people argue that Christmas day is the day of Prophet Jesus’s birthday, so there will be no harm in celebrating this day. This statement is not logical according to the Islamic point of view. If this is true, then Muslims should celebrate the birthday of various other Prophets who are mentioned in verses of the Holy Quran. Remember that our Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the last messenger of Allah Almighty, which is clear from the various verses as well as from the Hades of Prophet Muhammad. Christians believe that the Prophet Jesus was the last messenger of Allah Almighty, which is against the teachings of Islam.

As true believers, we must avoid all the things and occasions that are against the teachings of Islam. Muslims do not need to participate in the celebrations of Christmas.

Comme la plupart des Américains, je n’ai jamais entendu parler du film « Innocence of Muslims » avant que les manifestations aient commencé. En réalité, j’ai entendu parler de la mort de l’ambassadeur américain J. Christopher Stevens avant d’entendre parler du film lui-même. « Innocence of Muslims » était dans un coin sombre de Youtube et aurait dû rester dans son coin si une tumulte ne s’est produite.

Le film, produit par Nakoula Basseley, ne semble pas beaucoup différent des Américains que des centaines ou même des milliers de films anti-chrétiens, athées ou anti-(quel que soit la religion et la culture) publiés sur YouTube quotidiennement, ces films qu’aucun d’entre nous ne veut voir. Seulement la personne qui a produit ce film et ses partisans immédiats, tiennent de tels jugements sur la culture Musulmane. Aucun Américain ne veut regarder ce film horrible pour le divertissement et je ne pense pas que chacun l’aurait vu si les manifestations n’avaient pas commencé (le film a atteint 30 millions de vues après l’éruption de manifestants). Quand les Américains voient une vidéo comme ceci, nous le voyons comme une insulte à notre culture et notre intelligence. C’était une vidéo bon marché sur YouTube qui ne tient aucune crédibilité et les Américains n’en ont pas tenu compte, aussi bien que personne ne s’y est associé.

Juste parce que l’on ne permet pas à notre Président d’interdire le film à cause de la “ Liberté d’expression” , chaque citoyen de ce pays n’en a pas tenu compte dans leur propre esprit. Nous l’avons interdit quand nous avons vu la première scène horrible et évidemment dérogatoire, de la même manière que nous interdisons des films anti-chrétiens et anti-bouddhistes quand nous les voyons.

Les américains et les Musulmans partagent entre eux un intérêt très commun, aucune de nos cultures ne veut être stéréotypée. Les Musulmans ne veulent pas être stéréotypés comme des tueurs et des terroristes, comme le Coran souligne l’importance de paix, le respect et la compréhension. En même temps, les Américains ne veulent pas être stéréotypés sur le mauvais jugement ou les mauivaises décisions prises par nos présidents ou des citoyens étroits d’esprit comme Nakoula Basseley. Chacune de nos deux cultures veut être respectée et si l’Américain moyen pouvait arrêter Nakoula Basseley avant que ce film ne soit publié, il l’aurait fait. Nous savons tous que ce film était indigne de publication, mais puisqu’il est dans la constitution de notre pays de permettre la liberté d’expression, tout ce que l’Américain moyen peut faire est essayer de prouver que nous ne partageons pas les mêmes points de vue que les âmes haïssables qui ont fait le film.

The most destructive event in the modern history that lead to massive killings and unrest in every region of the world was the 9/11 incident. The incident claimed around 2500 lives but afterwards it brought much larger destruction to the world peace. After 9/11 more than 2500,000 people have been killed in various parts of the world. All these people were the victim of the United States war on terror. The war on terror mostly claimed the lives of innocent men, women and children. Only in Pakistan more than 40000 people have died because of the American policies in the neighboring Afghanistan.  The support to American war on terror has claimed many lives whose number is higher than any other country. Contrary to all the things that happen before, on and after the 9/11 the Americas blame Muslims for whatever happed in 9/11. Muslims suffered the most because of the 9/11 incident as they are seen with hatred and were denied their basic rights. Americans believed that Islam teaches terror and violence and wish to conquer the world with its terror activities.

The situation nowadays is very critical and Muslims are not protected in America. Their businesses are kept under continuous investigations. They have one or more victim of racial violence in their families.  Muslims are even hiding their religious identity because it has become a reason of worry for them. Americans believe that Muslims deceived their country by committing treason. It is an allegation that Muslims used the charity given to them to support the terrorist’s activities. The fund given by the American was used wrongly in these activities without the consent of the people which comes under the charge of treason. It is well established fact that religion has nothing to do with the act of the individuals. There is no religion that promotes terror and violence. Islam is a comprehensive religion that allows Muslims to fight only in certain conditions. The condition is that Muslims can raise weapons when they are denied rights and they are most persecuted people. When they are not getting justice they can fight for their due rights. Even during the war Muhammad SAW ordered Muslims not to damage the green trees and property and also ordered not to kill the civilians.

Muslims charities were blamed to support the terror activity of 9/11 because of which these charities are facing bans in America. The relief work that was providing by many of these charities is halted since 9/11. American believes that Muslims are preached to take over the world but they don’t know that Islam never teaches to do so by terror activities. Islam promoted its message of one god peacefully. This is the reason that Muslims are increasing at a faster pace throughout the world. The gap between the religions is increasing with every single day and it can bring more destruction if this issue is not addressed. Americans should learn the religion of Islam before they make perception about Muslims and Islam. Everything that appears in media is not right and you need to get a proof before you believe it.
