Muslims are spread everywhere around the world. They all practice Islam, but the difference is that some live in Islamic countries while some live as minorities in non-Muslim countries. Talking about Europe and specially UK, there are Muslims present in a huge amount, but the country is not a Muslim country. On the other hand, Pakistan is a Muslim country, and you are going to find a Muslim majority, wherever you go.

Talking about the conditions of Muslims in Pakistan, we can see that they are free to practice their religion. Since Pakistan is a Muslim country, there is simply no issue in following Islam, as Islam is the state religion. Muslim women can wear hijab and Muslim men can keep beards. They face no opposition. They can go to mosques without any obstacles. In fact, Muslim children if they go to schools or go for work; they have Muslim friends and colleagues. Rarely does it occur that they have Hindu, Christian, or Jewish friends. Wherever you go, you will find mainly Muslims.

On the contrary, London or UK is not a Muslim country. However, there is a large Muslim population living in London. As far as practicing Islam in London is concerned, you will find people with mixed views. There would be some who would say that there is simply no difficulty in practicing Islam in London. On the other hand, other people would be of different views. There are some who say that they live with non Muslims. They have Jewish or Christian friends but that does not matter. The friends drink alcohol but they do not. So simply there is no problem. They say that they have to face no problems being Muslims. As far as practicing Islam is concerned, they say that there is religious freedom. Muslim women have simply no objection in wearing hijab. It is a matter of personal choice.

On the other hand, some people are going to say that the new generation in London is going different. They are influenced by their non-Muslim friends and do not pay much importance to prayers, to fasting and other Islamic obligations. Islam is not just about believe. It also involves practice, and usually parents complain that by living in the UK, they are unable to control their children and raise them according to Islam.

Overall, London is a place that allows the freedom of religion. Though the Muslims living there cannot find living in London is as easy as living in Pakistan, because of the lacking of some occasions. For instance, talking about the festival of Eid, whether it is Eid-ul-Azha or Eid-ul-Fitr, they say that if they had spent these festivals in Muslim country it would have been more enjoyable, as everybody around would be a part of it. Those Pakistani families who have moved to UK also say that there is not a problem practicing Islam in the UK, except for the fact that they miss their families.

Hinduism is a large religion and there are lots of followers living all around the world. There are many concepts that are different from other religions embraced by people in the world. One such concept is the 7 lives of a human being. This is a concept that is very much debatable and it is still not proved by anyone.

Hindus are of the belief that every person is thought to re-born 7 times. Every time he or she is re-born after death, he or she will have a life according to the deeds  done in the last life. So if one does good deeds in first life then in second life he/she will have a good life which will be full of joy, happiness and comfort. In case he/she did bad acts in previous life then he/she will live a low existence or even be re-born as an animal. So this is what they believe but it has not been proven as of yet.

The Hindus are also of the belief that after seven lives, those who have done good things in plenty and only few sins, will go to heaven. Those who have done sins in their lives will have to pay for that and suffer punishment. They may be sent back to earth after finishing their punishment, but in any of the animal species. This way the Hindus are told to do good acts in their lives if they want to live happily when they are re-born or in life after death.

The Muslims have different point of view on this as they believe that there are only two lives one that you live on earth and the other is life hereafter. They are of the belief that those who have done bad deeds in their lives have to face the punishment and those who did good deeds in this world will go to heaven. There is no sending back. Everyone has to be answerable for deeds they are doing in this world. The two paths are clearly defined in Islam and Holy Prophet (PBUH) preaches the right way, and the choice is left to each person. Everybody can do whatever they see fit, but everybody will be held accountable after death.

Muslims scattered in different countries around the world and one of the adherents of faith with the third of the world. Islamic belief not only in Islamic countries but also scattered in various non-Islamic countries such as, America, China, Japan and many others. Based on the principles and teachings of Islam that Muslim beliefs not influenced by the location of the state but rather the faith and trust of each Muslim people. The high population of Muslims in non-Muslim countries is a challenge to could adapt and get along without even leaving the faith and beliefs according to the teachings of Islam.

Basic beliefs and strong faith give a positive impact on the Muslim Athletes with high routine in performing obligations as a Muslim in non-Muslim countries such as, praying five times, fasting and avoid activities that forbidden in the religion of Islam. Many temptations to Muslim Athletes as a restaurant and fast food vendors continue to sell is not an excuse for not fasting for the Muslim Athletes.

Meaning of fasting for Muslims especially Muslim Athletes in the month of Ramadan not only can withstand hunger, but also expected to strengthen the faith and confidence in the religion of Islam. For Athletes Muslims, fasting given a distinct meaning to get closer to Allah by performing various religious activities associated with getting so much strength in running fast.

In accordance with the teachings of Islam, every Muslim must perform various activities related to religion, both in Muslim and non-Muslim countries to strengthen the faith to avoid the prohibited act of religion. Believed that any Muslims who hold fast to faith in God can achieve success without relying worldly power. This applies to the Muslim Athletes in non-Muslim countries that with a strong belief and faith, could achieve the best success.

Achieved fame and wealth Muslim Athletes in many non-Muslim countries today, expected not to make Muslims forget the Athletes self-beliefs and faith of Islam. Athletes earned all Muslims should be addressed that it is all a gift from God and entrusted to distribute to all people in need, whether Muslims or non Muslims so they can become more abundant blessings. A key figure in the opposition to the Gungahlin mosque is a Christian fundamentalist activist who lives at least 15 kilometres away from the proposed site.

The secretive participants in the campaign against the mosque have consistently told media and government that they are concerned with local planning issues including traffic and noise.

But The Canberra Times has established that the spokesman for the group "Concerned Citizens of Canberra" describes himself as a pastor with Olive Tree Ministries and hosts fortnightly meetings at a prayer house in Yarralumla.

Irwin Ross, a Higgins resident who lives a 20-minute drive from the proposed mosque site, hosted last Sunday's closed meeting at Gungahlin Library, but it is unclear whether or not he organised the meeting. The meeting was held after the Concerned Citizens of Canberra distributed anonymous anti-mosque flyers to homes in the northern suburb.

A biography for Mr Ross posted on the website of Canberra's Christian radio station 1WAYFM says he has ministered in churches in Australia, the Philippines and Russia and has "a passion to teach and preach on the Hebrew roots of Christianity". Mr Ross hosts fortnightly Passover dinners for a group at the Canberra House of Prayer in Yarralumla.

The Canberra Times contacted Mr Ross yesterday and asked about his activities as a pastor of Olive Tree Ministries but Mr Ross said he did not want to comment.

Associates and acquaintances of Mr Ross in the Christian community said Mr Ross was known around Canberra's churches for his stridently pro-Israel views.

The Canberra Times attended Sunday's Concerned Citizens of Canberra meeting in Gungahlin, but was asked to leave after participants opposing the building of the mosque said media should not be present. After the meeting, one of the participants made threats of physical violence to a Canberra Times photographer.

A detailed document by the group has since emerged that instructs Gungahlin residents on how to lodge objections to the proposed mosque plans. The document asks the ACT government to take into account the long-term effect the mosque may have on social harmony, and states a mosque "seeks to dominate the area in which it is placed".

Submissions to the government in response to Canberra Muslim Community's development application closed yesterday.

"There are processes in place for people to have their say," Multicultural Affairs Minister Joy Burch said. "Everybody has a legitimate right to raise concerns about various projects, but to guise concerns about faith, religion or culture through other things such as traffic – that is not the way we do it here. To me, anything that is biased against developments based on culture or faith is unacceptable."

Canberra Muslim Community president Borhan Ahmed said the organisation had been transparent in its development plans and just wanted to be given "a fair go". He said the development application addressed planning concerns such as traffic and parking and any noise would be minimal because the mosque would not broadcast the call to prayer.

Mr Ahmed said Canberra Muslim Community was happy to meet with the Concerned Citizens of Canberra to discuss any issues they had with the development proposal.

"I would like to say to them, I don't know them, but we don't want any problem with anybody around us," he said. "We are a very peaceful community and we are prepared to have discussions with them if they are open and come to embrace us. We are always prepared to talk to people and address any concerns that they might have."

Mr Ahmed said he believed the group represented a minority of views and he had received "overwhelming" support from the Canberra community for the mosque.

Its founder Jan Markell defended the killing of nine people during Israel's May 2010 attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla on the grounds that this was part of "a spiritual battle between God's people and the satanic forces controlling Israel's enemies".
