Targetted Killings in Pakistan’s Financial Capital – Causes, Effects and Solutions

on Saturday, February 23, 2013

Killing innocent people because of petty differences is just plain old brutal. I personally just get disgusted by the thought of taking a human life just for the sake of worthless pieces of paper we call money.Pakistan –KARACHI, a bomb blast; pieces of human body shredded to dust; bikers shooting random innocent people just for the heck of it. That’s what all you hear nowadays when you turn on any news channel on TV. These target killings have been a rising form of violence and have contributed to instability and insecurity all over Pakistan.

Such incidents have become unacceptably frequent in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest cicty and major financial hub. The police has failed to do anything about it. We are sitting in our living rooms enjoying hot cocoa on these cold winter nights while in Karachi, a family is probably being torn to pieces. The word doomsday can’t even begin to describe what it’s like for the families and friends of victims of such sporadic incidents of violence.

For most of the part, target killings in Karachi have been is because of political, religious and ethnic motives. Now we’ll talk about some of the possible causes that might be the reason of these killings, especially in Karachi. Karachi, being an industrial center, has attracted migrants from all parts of Pakistan. This metropolitan city has become the most multicultural place in Pakistan, serving as a home to Biharis, Punjabis, Pukhtuns, Muhajirs and many more ethnic communities. I personally believe that the theory of clash of these civilizations come into effect over here.

It’s just not possible for a so much diverse group of people to live together in peace. Furthermore, religious extremism just adds fuel to the fire. This religious extremism has manifested itself in the form of a long term Shia-Sunni conflict that has now spread to the rest of the country as well. Also, the failure of the Pakistani government in controlling the situation is a matter of great shame for local rulers. Political instability accounts to that. Best examples include the never-ending feud between the the Awami National Party that is largely supported by Pathan immigrants and the Mutahida Qaumi Movement, which consists of Urdu-speaking Muhajirs.

Now the inevitable question arises: What can we do to resolve this dilemma? Well, I think handing control of the city to the army for a little while won’t do any harm, not here anyways considering its situation. Yes, that might sound like a little dictator-biased to you, but we are running out of options. Steps must be taken or else we lose our biggest city and financial capital to these lowlifes forever.

The Detrimental Effects of Bangladeshi Factory Fires

on Saturday, December 1, 2012

In Bangladesh, all tragedies are forgotten within a few days after they happen, and a few so-called “measures” are taken to prevent further incidents. Fires in garment factories in Bangladesh are not a very new phenomenon: they have been happening in Bangladesh’s garment factories quite regularly. But the recent fire in a Bangladeshi garment factory can’t be further from an “accident” as reported by the government or the media. It is explicitly an untold butchery, although it has been widely reported to be an “accident.” These fire massacres are very common in Bangladeshi garment factories, but proper steps are not taken to prevent the loss of life. How can this be possible when this is happening on a regular basis? The authorities should have been more responsible and should have the willingness to prevent loss of life. Unfortunately, this has happened over and over, and the same consequence is witnessed: the government announces a national mourning or or show of sympathy, opposition leaders protest the apathy of the government, and finally, the media publishes a few articles and reports the incident on the news in order to grow their own publicity. And the same thing happens again: a deadly fire, national mourning, news, articles, silence. This is a vicious circle; it has been continuing for a very long time.

People believe that the lives of garment workers are worthless. They die and it seems that nothing happens – rather, it seems that they are destined to die. The garments sector of Bangladesh is a very influential sector, as it greatly contributes to the country’s economy. But the garment workers are so neglected that they can’t even live a hygienic life. They are paid a very small wage, and they can’t properly live their lives on such a small wage. Their children are deprived of proper schooling. They can’t eat or live properly.  Furthermore, the fire security systems in place at Bangladeshi garment factories are not sufficient.

Some proposals can be presented here in order to better the situation. The capital city of Bangladesh is overpopulated. At this point, garment factories could be established in different areas of the country. Cities like Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Barishal could be ideal places for garment factories. If people could do their work while living in their homes, then the wage paid may no longer be a huge problem. Moreover, the ambiance of Dhaka city has become so gloomy that people have now started to leave Dhaka. For the sake of enhancing of beauty and population of Dhaka city, garment factories need to be scattered throughout the country. From this point, an important issue arises. The emergency communication system in Bangladesh is also not very good. With the newly scattered factories, the refinement of the emergency communication systems could be another project. If this could be done, the ambiance and the future of garment factories in Bangladesh could be very bright. The people could truly dream for a better Bangladesh.

Many of the people pray for both of them, they both handle the country with sincerity. Against Obama was standing the famous political personality, Romney.

A new era of hope in USA

After witnessing these elections, the big question that arises in everyone’s mind is that what will be the effects of US elections on America? Will these elections be fruitful to the nation? Will these elections fulfill the needs of the nation?

Well, the answer to the question “what will be the effects of US elections on the America?” cannot be given on such a short notice. These elections can only impart a ray of hope among the people that the president will fulfill the requirements of the nation and will try to maintain unity among people. He will maintain good relations with the foreign countries and will further improve the bonds between the U.S. and other countries. The people can hope that he will further improve and develop the country’s economic and industrial condition.

What will be the effects of US elections on the America? 9/11 and it’s after effects

on Saturday, September 1, 2012

The human race has witnessed many crises that have changed the course of history. These crises brought destruction to the world peace. The most destructive events in world history were the world wars which lead to loss of human life and resources. After the world war the crisis that has engulfed the whole world is the 9/11. The incident of 9/11 was seen as the direct threat by the Americans but the steps taken by America have now made the entire world a dangerous place to live in. The aftershocks of the 9/11 were observed in every part of the world.

The United States of America blamed Muslims for the 9/11 incident which was made the reason for war against terrorism. This war against terrorism was started by Americans in Afghanistan, Iraq and other parts of the world. American believes that Islamic extremists are a big threat to American existence and they should be finished to bring peace to the world. For this, America first blamed Afghan mujahedeen and started a war there. The war is still on the go but it sees that America has lost the war as the death toll of the allied forces is still high. They have failed to bring stability in Afghanistan. It is thought by the east that the incident of 9/11 is a self-created drama by the America. The main reason for this was to make it an excuse to attack the rich Muslim countries and to use their resources. America is a growing nation and their needs are much more and increasing so America has only one way to get more resources for their people and this was to attack others and occupy their resources. The reign of Sadam Hussain was also targeted by stated the reason that it was a threat to the global security. It was said that Iraq has the weapons of mass destruction that can be used against the Americans. Sadam was one of the closest friends of the United States but when he refused to further cooperate with America he was targeted. The belief of the east that Iraq was targeted just for the resources was further strengthened when after the war America has not found any mass destruction weapon. By attacking these two countries the American has ruined the world peace and has increased the gap between the religions. The South Asian region and the Gulf States are deeply affected by the post 9/11 incidents. Pakistan has suffered the most as its borders are with the Afghanistan. The border between Afghanistan and Pakistan is not sealed because of which many extremists crossed the border and also targeted the Pakistani forces and civilians. In the last 11 years, Pakistan has paid a high price for its support against terrorism. More than 40,000 civilians and forces men have been martyred in this war against terrorism.  In the name of this war against terrorism the NATO and ASAF forces have exploited the world resources and brought instability to the world. The unrest in the Muslim countries like Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Syria is only because of the Americans the war imposed on the Muslims after 9/11.
