The Boston attack has brought a big suspense among the people. This attack was first planned for the US Independence Day by the two brothers Tamerlan and Tsarnaev. These two brothers were very young. Tsarnaev was only 19 while his brother was just 26. This news was announced by the officials who found some evidence of the attack, but instead of attacking the US, they attacked the Boston Marathon last month.

The reports announced that the attack was planned by the brothers on the 4th of July, but the date was changed. The two brothers were very young, but they built a bomb very soon. The brothers have built the two bombs with the help of pressure cookers, and this bomb was used for the attack in the Boston Marathon. Many people were wounded in this attack, and 3 people were killed. The attack took place on the 15th of April. The officials had some information about the attack on the 4th of July, but they were not aware about the attack of the 15th of April.

The elder brother Tamerlan was killed by the police on the 19th of April soon after 4 days of the attack. His brother was wounded, and was caught by the police. The younger brother after investigations was found guilty and was charged for a death penalty by the Government. The family claimed the body of the elder brother, which was kept at the Boston facility for a week, to carry out a funeral.

His wife Katherine was against the claim of the body as she was not supporting her husband for the attack. The family was wishing to get the dead body for the final ceremony. The wife was also under the eye of the investigators about how the bomb was planned and whether she helped them to build the bomb. The parents of the two brothers lived in the US before the attack, but they went to Russia after this great disaster, that was committed by their sons.

There were three other people who were caught by the investigators in connection to the attack. The other three were also students and friends of Tsarnaev. Among the three students, one was without a valid US visa and so the Republican Senator asked Obama about the security of the nation. These three were brought to Essex after they were caught in Boston. Among the three boys, one was named Tazhayakov whose visa was dismissed by the government as he was thrown out by the university. He was allowed to enter without a valid US visa. The three students were taken under investigations by the federal government and their lawyers are trying hard to prove them correct, and show that they were not connected with the attack.

Islam is the religion of peace, and there is no doubt towards it. It guides humanity towards peaceful relationships. We can understand this clearly, if we look at the pre-Islamic condition of Arabia. The pre-Islamic period was full of brutal wars and killing of innocents. Islam came and ended all these forms of killing of innocent and disrespecting the rights of women. It’s called people towards peace.

However, some people are of the view that Islam is not a religion of peace because it allows war. Such people do not get deep into the meaning of things.  Islam allows wars under certain conditions. Looking into the past, at the time of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), we see that a number of wars were fought between Muslims and non-Muslims. So what was the reason behind that? The reason was that they were allowed to go to war with their enemies when their enemies forced them into it. Looking at the Battles of Badr, Uhad, Trench, and many more we see that it was the Kuffar of Quraysh who forced the Muslims into battle

Apart from that, we also witness the battles of Muslims at the time of Prophet Mohammad ( peace be upon him) with the Jews. Each time the Muslims went into battle with the Jews, the main reason was that the Jews broke the treaty. They started it, and forced the Muslims into it.

After the time of the Prophet (Peace be upon Him), if we look into the reign of Abu-Bakr, we see that Muslim armies were sent to different places, to fight against those who refused some basic principles of Islam. Apart from that, some false prophets also arose, and Muslim armies were dispatched to fight against those false prophets.

After that, Muslims invasions were made. However, in all that, a few principles were kept in mind. Every leader of the army was reminded a few principles. When the Muslim army went to any land for the invasion, they first gave them three options. They gave them the option to accept Islam, or pay Jizya tax or to fight. Those who accepted one of the first two options were dealt peacefully. However, those that chose the third option, to fight were fought. Apart from that during the fighting, the Muslim army was always instructed to avoid cutting of trees, and disturbing the old, the women, and the children. The Muslim army was even instructed not to disturb the monks from their worship. When the lands were captured, all the non-Muslims were given their due rights to worship their own religion. Their lives and properties were protected under Muslim rule.

Thus, even though Islamic history speaks about Islamic wars, but their purpose for the war was to establish peace in the world. They never meant to bring terrorism and disunity in the world. They only fought when they were forced into it. They fought when they were cheated and when the treaties were broken. The Conquest of Makah is the best example to show how peaceful Muslims were and how much Islam cares about people’s rights,

Most people have been known to associate the attacks of 9/11 with the leader of the al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden. The real planner,  a mastermind who had a wide range of experience in the field of terrorism was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. This figure orchestrated a series of terrorist activities across the globe. Khalid sees himself as a powerful man, someone who could control the world, and take it down any moment he wanted. The various attacks he has launched in different countries are more than enough evidence that there was nothing he could not manage to do. Eventually, this came to an end, and unfortunately he, has found himself in the arms of the government.

Khalid was born on 1^st march in the year 1964 in the city of Kuwait. He was arrested in the year 2000, 1^st of March of the place known as Rawalpindi in Pakistan. This man was a citizen of 3 countries, namely Bosnia, Pakistan, and Kuwait. He was detained at CIA black sites and Guantanamo as he awaited prosecution by the court of law. He has been charged with conspiracy as well as terrorism, including the mass killing of innocent citizens.

The man was not only known by the name Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. He had an addition of over 50 other names. His terrorist activities have been spread across the globe in the last 20 years. He is alleged to have planned the attack on the World Trade Center in the year 2001. He was the figure responsible for the bombing of the Bojinka,a plan that never was successfully hatched. But these were just few of the many attacks that he attempted before the final attack on September 11.  The Interservice Intelligence was the security body that finally caught up with him. After he was arrested, he was transferred to America in the year 2007. He has openly confessed to being the mastermind of the 9/11 attack along with other attacks in different parts of the world.

The 2001 September attack was the first plan of terrorism that Khalid ever presented to Osama bin Laden. He planned that planes from most parts of the east coast would first be hijacked. Then, the planes would be flown to the areas of interest. Osama did not agree to some of the attack strategies to the US that had been planned by Khalid. There were a number of meetings where Osama, military leader Mohammed Atef and Khalid attended prior and after the attack on 9/11. Osama did everything to provide both military and financial support to facilitate the plot. Mohammed Atef was then chosen as the leader of the hijacking team. That was when a meeting was organized and the 3 decided on the strategic places in America for bombing on 9/11. It was just enough to bring down the American plane, and as it was planned, successful.

EID-UL-ADHA – HISTORY

Eid-UL-Adha is celebrated by Muslims all over the world on the 10^th of Zil Hajj according to the Islamic moon calendar. The festival is celebrated for three days to honor the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahim was about to make to Allah. Allah constantly tested Prophet Ibrahim and his family, of which they failed none. Examples of Al-Safa, Al-Marwah, Zamzam well and Holy Ka’abah are still in front of us.

Prophet Ibrahim loved his only son devotedly. When Hazrat Ismail was thirteen, Allah commanded Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his only son. Prophet Ibrahim was ready to make the sacrifice but consulted his son first who without any hesitation agreed to be sacrificed. Unbearable to watch, Prophet Ibrahim blindfolded himself and made the sacrifice. When he untied his blindfold, he found his son standing beside him and a sheep slaughtered instead. Hazrat Ismail was replaced with a sheep by Angel Jibrael.

ALL ABOUT SACRIFICE

To honor this event Muslims celebrate Eid-Ul-Adha; the message behind this festival is sacrificing a life in the way of Allah. The animals to be sacrificed are cows, sheep, goats and camels. The meat of sacrificed animals are distributed among the poor. It is also important to consider close relatives. The main objective of this sacrifice is to prepare Muslims to devote their wealth in the way of God. The objective of sacrifice is not only to eat and distribute the meat of animals once every year. Instead the purpose of this event is to remember the sacrifice of prophet Ibrahim and prepare for any kind of sacrifice to God. It is a fact that God provides us every thing like wealth, children and life. Therefore, we should not hesitate to spend these things in the way of God. We should not wonder why God needs our wealth and property; because God just wants to know whether Muslims will sacrifice it to him at all. When we spend our precious things on God, He will provide us more. Therefore, Muslims should become ready to give anything like wealth, money and life for the promotion of God’s message. Our life on earth is temporary. Therefore, it is wise to make our life more precious by following the Islamic lessons and teachings.

Hence, Eid-Ul-Adha is very important for the Muslims because it reminds them of Prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice to God Almighty. Therefore, every Muslim should sacrifice an animal on this event. There are several benefits to the sacrifice, as it eliminates the love of wealth from our heart. It makes us ready to sacrifice our life, wealth and children at any time for Islam. Muslims should give first preference to Islam and its revolution in the world. We should always remember the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim.

Inae Oh of the Huffington Post interviews Rabbi Jill Jacobs, executive director of Rabbis for Human Rights-North America, which took out an advertisement urging New York subway users to "help stop bigotry against our Muslim neighbors", in an effort to counter Pamela Geller's notorious "savages" ad. Rabbi Jacobs explains:

"I was very concerned that people might think that these ads speak for the Jewish community, as Geller couches her anti-Muslim message in the language of supporting Israel. The suggestion that she is speaking only about terrorists, and not about Muslims in general, falls apart as soon as you read her writings, which are fear mongering about Muslims in the U.S. and in the world, and about Islam as a religion."

She adds: "I want to spread the message that 1800 rabbis – along with the majority of the American Jewish community – believes in partnership with our Muslim neighbors. We, of course, oppose all acts of terrorism. We will not, however, allow the actions of a small minority to be an excuse for dehumanizing an entire people."

Sheila Musaji notes that many of Congress's leading Republican Islamophobes are members of an evangelical Christian organisation called Capitol Ministries. She writes:

"Looking through information on Capitol Ministries, it seems that they are not only anti-Muslim, but also anti-gay, and anti-Catholic. However, they seem to focus more of their venom on Muslims....

"How is it that of the 46 Congressional sponsors on Capitol Ministries list, at least 23 of them have been involved in anti-Sharia, anti-Muslim, Islamophobic activities? That's at least 50% of the members of this group who seem to believe that it is a 'Christian' value to bash Muslims....

"These are people who have political power, and are using it to demean and demonize members of a minority religion."
