Mr. Chuck Hagel, the US defence secretary said that he ensured that the US army is ready to attack the Iranian nuclear program whenever they feel it’s time to attack.  He further said that he totally agreed with what Mr. President said about Iran’s nuclear program. He said that the United States holds an option to take steps to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power. This statement is given by Hegel after a question raised by a senator armed service committee.

Mr. Hagel further said that Iran must take this matter seriously and there are still chances to hold diplomatic talks but the pressure is on so there are considering closing this window. This statement is strongly opposed by the opposition when Mr.Hagel faces the republican. They questioned him about the policy he states about the Iranian nuclear program and for the economic sanction imposed on Iran as they did in the Iraqi war. He also made a remark about the Jewish lobby impact in Washington. Senator John Cornyn who is opposing Mr.Hagel said that the nominee was rejected in previous positions on this kind of issues in the political strategy to win affirmation.

He further said that it would cause negative impact on the overall moral of the armed forces and it would become a tough task to recruit and retain the forces. He further said it would be a devastating impact on the military and civil workers. It would also affect the allies and the enemies, according to Mr. Hagel. Mr. Panetta said that this cut down in budget would be doomsday Mechanism.When talking about the introduction of expensive weapon in US military, Mr. Hagel said that the new Air Jets would be included in the US Armed forces soon.

A drug dealing English Defence League supporter slashed two men with a cut throat razor during a brutal gang attack at a pub.

Twenty-six year-old Marcus Ward went on the run for two-and-a-half years following the attack in March 2010, only handing himself in to police in September last year.

Judge Jonathan Foster QC branded Ward a "dangerous man" at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court as he jailed him a total of 11 years.

Ward and fellow supporters of the far-right organisation visited the Oddfellows in Middleton following a march in Bolton. But the gang, who were wearing English Defence League clothing and carrying EDL flags, were asked to leave the Oldham Road pub by the concerned landlord due to their rowdy behaviour. When the landlord went outside to explain why he had asked them to leave he was punched and kicked in the face.

Two bystanders went to help the landlord, when Ward, formerly of North Street, Boarshaw, assaulted them with a cut-throat razor. One victim was left with a 15cm cut to the back of his head and a cut lip. The other suffered slashes running from his left shoulder to his back. One wound was so serious he needed surgery.

The court was told Ward was one of eight children raised by a father who was described by the judge as a violent "habitual criminal", after his mother left home when he was four years old.

Ward was on bail for firearms offences at the time of the attack. He was caught with a pistol and a sawn-off shotgun with rounds of ammunition during a police search of his former home. Police also found an air rifle, a crossbow, a machete, £5,413 worth of cannabis, £160 in cash, a dealers' list and some snap bags.

Ward, who had previously pleaded guilty to two charges of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, and pleaded guilty to two counts of firearms possession, possession of ammunition and possession of cannabis with intent to supply, told the court that the firearms belonged to his late father, who had asked him to look after them for him. He denied that he kept firearms for protection because he was dealing drugs.

Ward, who admitted that he did sell drugs to friends, but said it wasn't on a large scale, said: "He was pretty strict my old man and whatever he said went. I didn't feel that I could refuse his request."

Ward was sentenced to a total of 11 years imprisonment, with six-and-a-half years concurrent for possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of a shotgun and possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and four-and-a-half years concurrent for two charges of section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a cut-throat razor and violent disorder.

After sentencing Detective Inspector Andy Butterworth said: "This is a dangerous individual who was pursued relentlessly by the police."

Randolph Linn is behind bars after pleading guilty to federal arson and related crimes committed at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, but local Muslim leaders are concerned there may be more people like him out there.

Linn, a 52-year-old truck driver and ex-Marine from St. Joe, Ind., was initially charged with one count each of intentionally damaging religious property and using fire or explosives in commission of a felony for the Sept. 30 arson attack. A third charge, of using a firearm to commit a crime of violence, was added by a grand jury Dec. 18.

He pleaded guilty to all three counts in U.S. District Court in Toledo on Dec. 19 as part of a binding agreement and could be sentenced to 20 years in prison in April. He will also be required to pay a $250,000 fine and restitution that may exceed $1 million.

"Yes, justice has been served and the Islamic Center will be rebuilt and we will meet inside it and continue to do so. But the actual problem hasn't been dealt with," said S. Zaheer Hasan, a spokesman for the United Muslim Association of Toledo.

"There's a bad feeling, first of all because of the environment, which is becoming hateful," he said. "The arson attack was an isolated incident, but it was a product of that hatred."

Mahjabeen Islam, president of the Islamic Center, said it was "upsetting" to sit through Linn's hearing, during which the suspect vented his hatred of Muslims. "It was terrible because he was guilty, but he has no remorse at all," Islam said. "It was very apparent to everyone that he blamed the media; he blamed Fox News; he tried to blame alcohol."

Linn told U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary that prior to his crime he drank 45 beers in seven hours. He then said he spontaneously decided, after seeing a wounded U.S. soldier on television, to get into his Chevrolet Sonic and drive 82 miles from St. Joe to Perrysburg.

He brought three firearms and stopped along the way to fill three gas containers, authorities said.

Linn said in court that he had hauled his truck many times past the domed mosque at the junction of Interstates 75 and 475.

According to Islam, when Zouhary asked Linn if knew any Muslims personally, he replied, "No, I only know what I hear on the radio and see on Fox News." He told the judge that Muslims are "going around killing us," Islam said.

Zouhary told Linn that the attack on the mosque was an attack on all places of religion. "You are no better than the terrorists or extremists you sought to punish," the judge told Linn.

Islam said she believes irresponsible media coverage fanned Linn's hatred and distorted his view of her faith. "My feeling is that the media needs to be more responsible. The combination of ignorance about Muslims and Islam, and hate and alcohol, and then whipping up all of this hatred in the media, is a lethal combination," Islam said.

Damage to the mosque from the blaze and from the building's sprinkler system and firefighters' hoses is estimated at $1.5 million, Islam said, adding that insurance is covering the expenses. Repairs are scheduled to be completed by the end of March. In the meantime, the mosque is holding Friday prayers at a Rossford indoor sports complex – with added security – and the center's Islamic school meets at Owens Community College.

Islam said surveillance cameras showed Linn, wearing a camouflage hat and sweatshirt, walking through the mosque with a pistol in his left hand. He left a beer can in the women's hijab room, she said, before pouring gasoline on the carpet in the main prayer room and igniting it.

"Had somebody been there, I dread to think about what could have happened because he had a gun. If people had been there, it might have been like the [Oak Creek, Wis.] Sikh temple shooting."

The Collectif contre l'Islamophobie en France reports that there has been yet another fascist graffiti attack on a French mosque, this time at Provins in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. On Saturday morning worshippers found six red swastikas sprayed on the walls and doors of the building. The CCIF points out that this follows a similar attack only a week ago at Ozoir-La-Ferrière.

French interior minister Manuel Valls has issued a statement condemning the incident and declaring his support for the Muslim community, but the CCIF dismisses this as just words, when what is needed is action. They add that Valls himself, with his expulsion of preachers, his talk of the Republic's "essential struggle" against the veil, and his treatment of French Muslims as the enemy within, has helped to legitimise Islamophobic acts.

A suspected arson attack damaged the main club house of Israeli Premier League side Beitar Jerusalem on Friday, a day after four fans were charged in court in connection with racist incitement against the team's recruitment of Muslim players, police said.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the fire, which caused no injuries, caused "extensive damage" to the premises next to the team's main training grounds. Reuters television footage showed trophies and other memorabilia were destroyed.

"Initial findings show the blaze was caused by a number of suspects" and police were investigating a possible link to protests over the team's signing up of two Chechen Muslim players last month, Rosenfeld said.

The Israel Football Association (IFA) said that soccer's world governing body FIFA had requested clarification following racist chanting by fans at a league fixture last month against the Chechen players.

A Jerusalem court had indicted four fans on Thursday for involvement in that incitement, police said.

The club has also been disciplined for that incident and were ordered to close the Teddy Kollek Stadium's 7,000-seat eastern grandstand, where hard core supporters sit, for five matches. They also received a 50,000 shekels ($13,500) fine.

Beitar are a bastion of Israel's political right wing and the only leading team in the country never to have signed an Arab player because of fan pressure.

They have the worst disciplinary record in Israel's Premier League. Since 2005, Beitar have faced more than 20 hearings and have received various punishments, including points deductions, fines and matches behind closed doors.

A teenager pulled a hijab from a woman's head in a racist attack on her in a park. Paige Bain and her aunt Eileen Kennedy assaulted Umaimi Musa as she was sitting with her friend Mary Marandran in Glasgow.

On Monday, Glasgow Sheriff Court heard 16-year-old Bain also attacked Mrs Marandran, who was five months pregnant at the time of the incident in the city's Royston Road.

As Ms Musa and Mrs Marandran were sitting in the park, one of Bain or Kennedy, 28, uttered racist phrases towards them, including "f****** black African" and "f****** brings you to this country?"

The incident was captured on CCTV which was shown to the court, while the camera operator alerted police to the attack on September 3, 2012.

Sheriff Kenneth Mitchell sentenced Bain to two years and eight months in detention, while Kennedy was earlier jailed for two years and six days.

Bain, who was 15 at the time of the attack, and Kennedy pled guilty to racially assaulting 41-year-old Ms Musa to her injury. Kennedy also admitted resisting arrest and claiming she had an infection before spitting on a police officer. Bain pled guilty to the racially aggravated assault on Mrs Marandran, 40, by repeatedly punching her on the head and pushing her to her injury.

Hayley Wells and Kelly WattersonPlymouth based racist Hayley Wells pleaded guilty to racial and religiously aggravated assault at Plymouth Crown Court this morning.

The offences took place in August 2010 after an English Defence League meet and greet turned into drunken violence and a takeaway restaurant was attacked. Staff had to lock the group out after threats were made, abuse shouted and glass and bottles were thrown around the shop which at the time had in it an eight week old baby and a 14 year old child.

Wells left the court in tears after the judge advised he could not guarantee that he would not give her an immediate custodial sentence when she returns for sentencing on 22nd February

Wells' co-defendant, Kelly Watterson, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of affray after getting her religiously aggravated assault charges dropped. Watterson posted the following on her Facebook page after the hearing. "All the racial, religious and assault charges were dropped. Only ended up with a public disorder charge..... Told ya's I was innocent WHOOOOOOP!!!"

Wells has a previous conviction for defrauding Ebay customers out of money after listing non existent iPads for sale.

Whyalla's Muslim community has been praying outside in stifling temperatures above 40C after fires damaged their mosque.

The fires, which started about 4am on Thursday, are being treated as suspicious. A spokesman for the community, Hasan Aziz, said he believes the attack was a "hate crime".

"The way it's been carried out tells us that it's a targeted crime, a hate crime," he said. "In a town like Whyalla, of all the places, it's very unlikely for such an act to be carried out. There's been no problems in the past."

The blaze caused smoke damage inside the Morris Crescent mosque after fires were lit at the front and back door of the property. "The front and the back doors have been burnt totally," Mr Aziz said. "They put petrol on both of them and they lit it on fire."

Mr Aziz said that the community, which meets twice a day at the mosque, has been forced to pray outside in searing temperatures. "It's pretty bad. We can't carry out any of the prayers, so we've had to do it outside," he said.

The building was insured. A police spokesman said the fire caused minimal damage but appeared to be suspicious. Local Crime Investigation Branch detectives are investigating.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an official investigation into a mosque attack at the NATO İncirlik Air Base in the southern province of Adana, following claims that the attack was carried out by U.S. soldiers, Doğan News Agency has reported.

Turkish and U.S. generals, as well as other relevant authorities, will be asked for information about the incident as part of the investigation, reports said.

Local media in Adana had earlier reported that a number of soldiers at the İncirlik base entered the mosque on New Year's Eve, destroying its minbar and windows along with the Quran. Turkey's chief of staff subsequently denied the allegations.

Windows in the prayer room were broken by unknown individuals and there was some additional small-scale damage, the chief of staff said in a written statement issued late Jan. 10.

For the second time in two weeks, Israeli settlers stormed the historical Mosque of the Prophet Daud in Jerusalem, and they broke the ceramic and marble tiles covering three walls. The tiles date back to the 17th century.

The incident sparked widespread anger and condemnation amongst those concerned with holy places in Jerusalem, especially that it is not the first time the mosque is attacked. The occupation authorities have already seized the mosque and turned its first floor into a Jewish synagogue.

For its part, a delegation of Al-Aqsa Foundation for endowment and heritage came to the scene to preview the damage, where eyewitnesses told them that the assault took place at night, causing extensive damage and a clear violation to the sanctity of the mosque and Islamic architecture.

The Foundation's head, Zaki Mohamed Aghbarieh, denounced the attack that came "in light of repeated Israeli attacks on Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem in general, and those surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular."

Aghbarieh considered it as an attack on Islamic architecture especially that the marble that has been broken down dates back to the Ottoman era.

The Foundation called on Arab, Islamic and Palestinian nation to take urgent actions in order to preserve Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem in particular, calling on all concerned parties to save the Islamic heritage and architecture from the Israeli threats.

The Supreme Islamic Council and the Department of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Al-Dajani family in Jerusalem confirmed more than once that the mosque and all its surrounding places are all pure Islamic endowments.

It is worth mentioning that the mosque was subjected several times to frequent attacks in order to obliterate its Islamic features, and to turn it into a Talmudic and biblical shrine.

The latest news comes in media regarding the killing of top Taliban leader Mula Nazir, who was under grounded since last year. Sources confirmed today that in a drone attack that struck the tribal area of Pakistan “Wana.” More than 12 people were killed in this attacked and sources confirmed that Mula Nazir was among the top leadership of the Taliban’s wing in Pakistan.

He was among the top rated leader that has been killed in drone attack in Pakistan. Mulla Nazir is associated with training of fighters and send them to Afghanistan to fight against American troops and NATO. The Pakistani government has confirmed that in an air strike, two missile have been fired which resulted in killing of 12 people which includes Mula Nazir and five of his loyal friends.

According to some other sources, it has been confirmed that Nazir was killed when he was changing the car due to the mechanical issues in his car. His two deputies who are engaged in activities and are active in the area were also killed. The funeral prayer for the leader has been offered near a town in Waziristan. At the time of his funeral, all the shops and markets were forced to close.

Mula Nazir was having a close and friendly relationship with the Afghan Taliban and was helping them for some time. The 40-year-old leader was also linked with the haqani network in Pakistan. According to the sources it has been said a peace agreement has been made between the Islamabad officials and the Mula Nazir. He also has to face the threats of Pakistani Taliban as he warned them to stop killing innocent people in Pakistan. He has been attacked many times and few months back, he was injured in suicide bomb attack.

According to Pakistani officials it has been considered as a great set back,because due to his presence the Tahreek-e-Taliban was unable to operate freely in the North Waziristan as he hold peace talks with Pakistan officials in 2007. The impact of his death has divided the opinions of analysts. Some people believe that it will be a setback for Pakistan, but some people think that it will be a great achievement for U.S. army and Afghan government.

A woman who launched a racist attack against a Muslim and pulled her hijab from her head as she robbed her of her phone has been jailed for more than two years.

Eileen Kennedy, 28, and her 16-year-old niece Paige Bain assaulted Umaimi Musa in Glasgow in September.
 The teenager also assaulted Ms Musa's friend, Mary Marandran, who was five months pregnant with her third child.

The victims were sitting in a playpark when they heard one of the accused make racist comments before they were attacked. The incident was captured on CCTV and the camera operator alerted the police as the incident happened.

Passing a sentence of two years and six days on Kennedy yesterday, Sheriff Kenneth Mitchell told her: "There is no place at all in a modern Scotland for this sort of behaviour. This is a very serious matter. Your conduct was wholly unacceptable, and conduct of this sort can only result in a custodial sentence. You joined in a sustained attack upon this lady and robbed her of her mobile phone."

Social work reports had been requested by the sheriff before passing sentence, but Bain's was not ready. She will return to be sentenced next month.

The heart rendering news which has been unveiled today is the death of Bashir Balor who has been attacked by a suicide bomber.

Bashir Ahmad Bilour was a member of the provincial assembly of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Bashir balor was amongst the most senior leader of ANP (Awami National Party) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa,

The attacked occurred when Bashir Balor was leaving from a meeting of his political paryt along with his personal secretary and SHO Kabuli Police Station. The meeting was held at a residence of Awami National League’s local leader. The suicide attack was brutally designed as it blew up both the personal secretary Noor Mohammed as well as the SHO Sattar Khan on the spot. Moreover, the suicide bomb also injured 18 other lives.

After the attack took place, Bashir Balor was instantly taken to the hospital. Sources reveal that Bashir Balor was brought in a critical condition and the blood was flowing out of his body. Bashir Balor was taken to Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital for the instant treatment but unfortunately doctors couldn’t resuscitate him to bring back to his life and Bashir expired.

The reasons stated for the suicide attack on him reveal that Bashir Balor was in support of US strategies which aimed at erasing terrorism. Bashir Balor had claimed that terrorism is our own battle and we must fight through it. Also, Bashir Balor believed that Taliban must stop invading into the lives of the people of Pakistan who encompass nefarious agendas and are inhumane. Such tall claims of Bashir Balor were not taken easy by Taliban who made an attack on him and took his life.

Today, sources of Taliban have instantly taken the responsibility for the attack. The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan have made it clear to the people of Pakistan that anyone who would speak up against their policies and agendas will be meeting their deaths. The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan already have taken lives of many political and social personalities over the years and always have claimed responsibilities after the attack to wide spread the state of fear amongst the people.

Bashir Bilor was surely a brave man who had spoken up against the ruthless and out-lawed Taliban organization which has been hammering in their ideologies in the name of religion. Bashir Bilor belonged from a political family of Peshawar with a bachelor degree in law, Bashir Balor joined politics to raise his voice over the grave problems of Pakistan. He was always a member of Awami National League from 1970s. Bashir Balor had achieved many successes during his life such as five times consecutive MPA seat by maximum number of votes from Peshawar.

Leader like Bashir Balor will be missed extensively who had contributed for the betterment of his country Pakistan and always raised his voice against the injustice prevailing. Today, he has been killed down for his fearless comments against Taliban organization which is haunting the lives of the people of Pakistan.

In December 1947, the British government announced that they would leave the region of Palestine in May of 1948. At that point, Palestinians conducted strikes to take control of their own country, but they were not listened to. Then, in April 1948, Zionists attacked the regions granted to Palestinian Arabs. Additionally, Muslims captured a few of the areas including Gaza, the West Bank, and the capital of East Jerusalem, which has very important religious places for Muslims, Christians and Jews including the Temple Mount, Al Aqsa Mosque and the Church of Holy Sepulcher. When the Zionist control forced out the Arabs from Palestine in great numbers, the Quartet countries and the Arab League tried to resolve that conflict but they did not succeed in their mission. Despite all of this, Israel attacked Palestinian regions again and captured East Jerusalem, which was very important for the Muslims due to its religious importance. After that, many conflicts occurred, such as the first and second Intifada and the Passover massacre – all of which were painful for both nations.

Israel attacked again and again on Palestinian regions but you will find only the records of Palestinian attacks on Israel. Besides this, Palestine is not recognized as a country by the United Nations nor by most of the countries in the world, which is very painful. In return, Arabs and most of the Muslim countries also do not recognize the state of Israel yet. They consider it to be a Palestinian area occupied by Israel.

The areas taken over by the Muslims are Gaza and the West Bank. Muslims wanted to free a least those areas from the Israeli government, but Israel settled many Jews in those areas to increase the population of the Jews there. Then, the Israeli president enacted the Gaza resettlement in which the Jews were moved out of the Gaza area. This step was heavily criticized by the Israeli people. And hence, a few authorities were given to the Palestine Liberation Organization who were captured by the Hamas group in Gaza and after that, the group achieved political success there. On the other hand, the West Bank is in a very miserable condition because of the blockages and the barrier in Israel. So Hamas and Israel have attacked each other and continue to take revenge on each other.

Recently, the chief of the Hamas group of Gaza was killed by Israeli forces and, in retaliation, Gaza attacked Israel. As a result, Israel attacked with technologically sophisticated missiles and broke international laws. Obama’s remark about this incidence was that “Everyone has right for its self defense.” However, he does not give Pakistan the right of self defense against the drone attacks on its innocent citizens.

This eight day war killed many innocent Muslims and Jews who wanted a peaceful resolution of this conflict. Israel had the support of the UK and USA governments, and the governments of varying European countries. But then they became discouraged from conducting the ground invasion in Gaza and hence the Israeli Prime Minister ordered a cease fire. This decision is disliked by most people and they named their Prime Minister “Bibi loser” because the army was ready to enter into Gaza. However, this was a good step taken by the Israel government.

The important point here is that most American people, including Jewish people, who are living in the US and other countries are against these violent attacks by the Israel government. One of the newspapers in the US, The Washington Post, mentioned these violent acts on their front page when Israel attacked Gaza. The Jewish community in the US is mostly against this Zionist approach to make Palestine an entirely Jewish country. They are running a number of websites to support their views.

The problem of the Israel-Palestine conflict should be resolved by considering the point of views of both nations. The region is important for both nations so the allies of Israel and corresponding information sources should not hide the facts to achieve their desired aims and benefits. This conflict could also cause a problem for other Muslim and non-Muslim countries. If the rights of a nation will be oppressed again and again and there will be no one who will consider them and help to solve their problems, the results will become even more adverse. The oppressed nation will attempt to gain their rights through force and power, and the international community will call that innocent nation “the terrorists.”

Jewish, Hindu and Muslim leaders from Queens gathered with lawmakers to denounce the possible hate crime committed at a Kew Gardens Hills Mosque earlier this month, and city Comptroller John Liu suggested some of the NYPD's policies could make bias crimes more common.

"An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us," said Imam Shamsi Ali, of the Jamaica Muslim Center, who gathered religious leaders from around Flushing in the wake of the Nov. 18 attack.

At about 5 a.m., 57-year-old Bashir Amad was opening the doors of the mosque for morning prayers when he was beaten, bitten and stabbed by a suspect police described as a 6-foot white man between the ages of 35 and 45 and weighing 180 pounds. According to the NYPD, the man shouted anti-Muslim statements before ambushing Bashir outside the house of worship, at 72-55 Kissena Blvd. As of press time Tuesday no arrests had been made.

Liu condemned the incident and called for justice, assuring everyone that the NYPD was following all possible leads to find the attacker. But he also contended that policies, like the NYPD's practice of monitoring Muslims or barring Sikhs from wearing religious headwear while on the job, sends the message that it is acceptable to discriminate against these groups.

"Unfortunately, when Muslims are singled out for profiling, surveillance and other discriminatory actions, hate crimes such as this are more likely," he said. Liu was referring to the NYPD's controversial practice of infiltrating and monitoring mosques and student and business groups, even though the intelligence did not produce any indictments. The Police Department and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly have defended the practice as essential to protecting the city from terror attacks.

To show solidarity after the Kissena Boulevard attack, Ali called leaders from other houses of worship who gathered to decry the possible hate crime.

"Let's not pretend we are all the same," said Dr. Uma Mysorekar, of the Hindu Temple Society of North America. "We are different, but let's respect those differences."

Mysorekar stood with Amad and other members of the mosque, along with Rabbi Michael Weisser, of Flushing's Free Synagogue, who also encouraged tolerance and understanding between the different faiths. "No act like this will drive us apart – eventually that will only draw us closer together," he said.

The people of Egypt are always ready to help Palestine at any cost. The Muslim Brotherhood itself always fought for the interest of its neighbor Palestine. Now, the question is, how Morsi will satisfy the demand of the treaty and the Palestine people together as he promised to maintain both the treaty and the freedom of Gaza. We just have to wait and see what the merits of the newly elected president do on this very complicated issue.

The present situation of Egypt is not that positive from the real sense of democracy but when you look two years back, you will see the present state of Egypt much better. Now, the biggest impediment to the fair and perfect democracy in Egypt is the military and the SCAF. President Morsi; however, is an Islamic president, but he declared himself the president of all the Egyptians. This is a very good start. He met all the religious leaders of different religions after being elected as president and promised to ensure the right of all the communities to prevail the democracy.

The people of Egypt shaded their blood to make their dearest country free from Mubarak’s tyranny and they chose president Morsi to make their dream real. He has numerous challenges ahead. Egypt has a very complicated stand with the international community especially it’s relation with Israel is profoundly complicated.  The other Arab countries are always against Israel and ready to destroy them, but Egypt made a treaty with Israel which has been convened to continue by the international community especially by the United States.  President Morsi has said that he will continue all the international treaty which includes the treaty with Israel. He also promised to help Gaza to be freed.  President Morsi, however, should believe that he has not been elected just as the other presidents are elected. Rather, he has been elected after the best revolution of the century, so his responsibility and merits-demerits will greatly effect the future democracy in Egypt.

With extremely high expectations, Morsi is not upsetting the people. He has done many very popular things. He decreased the power of the SCAF, the ascendency of military. In the crisis moment of Gaza, people he stood behind them. As Al Jazeera reports, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has condemned Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip by calling them “unacceptable” and emphasized they would destabilize the region. Morsi lambasted the Jewish state on Thursday for the first time since he took office in June following the overthrow of Hosni Mubabrak.

“We are in contact with the people of Gaza and with Palestinians, and we stand by them until we stop the aggression, and we do not accept under any circumstances the continuation of this aggression on the Strip,” Mursi said.

Egypt can play an important role in making Gaza free. Morsi should proceed with due patience and wisdom.

Vandals set fire to the entrance of a West Bank mosque on Monday, damaging the door, in an attack that villagers blamed on Jewish settlers.

Residents of the Palestinian village of Orif, near the city of Nablus, said a group of settlers from a nearby settlement came to the mosque before dawn, poured gasoline on an old carpet near the mosque's door, and set it ablaze.

"The settlers tried to break into the mosque, but it was locked," Orif resident Issam al-Safadi told Reuters. "So they settled with burning the old carpet and the door."

Israeli rights group B'tselem says vigilante settler groups are suspected of vandalizing at least 10 mosques in the Israeli-occupied West Bank since 2009.

The ancient pyramids are both an Egyptian landmark and one of the proclaimed Seven Wonders of the World. Tens of millions of people flock to visit them each year, and few of the world’s school curriculums are void of them, or the stories of the rich and ancient culture that erected them so long ago.

Many people were alarmed when radical Jihadist Murgan Salem al-Gohary, during an Egyptian TV interview, Saturday, called for the destruction of the Sphinx and Pyramids in Giza. Al-Gohary was previously jailed twice, one of which ended in a life sentence for violent crimes, but he was let out under the new government regime and supposedly joined the Taliban. He was quoted as stating, “All Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols, as we did in Afghanistan when we destroyed the Buddha statues.” He added that the act was, “Something the government failed to do.”

The incident he refers to is the horrific demolition of the 2,000 year-old Buddhist statues carved into the Hindu Kush Mountains in the central province of Bamiyan, Afghanistan in March, 2001. An international outcry went out, calling for the preservation of the historical and priceless site, including pleads from France, The United States and UN General-Secretary. None of the petitions were answered and the mountain was fired upon using anti-aircraft missiles and tank fire before the mountain and remaining statues were destroyed with dynamite. One of such statues was the world’s tallest standing Buddha of its time, measuring 50 meters (165 feet) in height.

The Pyramids and surrounding landmarks are currently maintained by the Egyptian government. The sites are argued to be the main driving forces to Egypt’s tourism industry, which documented nearly 11 billion dollars in revenue in 2008 alone. To destroy these sites would cost an innumerable amount not only for its demolition and removal, but costing the country an untold amount in revenue from its tourism industry – such numbers that do not include the hotel industry or the jobs tourists provide to approximately 12 percent of Egypt’s population.

The archeological worth of the Giza Pyramids, as well as the Sphinx, is priceless. Digs and site preservation for research continue to this day, and we search for answers about the ancient Egyptian culture. It comes as a shock that many would support such an outlandish claim that the Sphinx should be destroyed, with such historical and cultural value. This is not the first time, though, that the monuments have come under attack. Many extremist rulers of Egypt have been recorded as defacing and damaging the Sphinx, including Mohammed Sa’im al-Dahr in 1380, who damaged the ears and nose of the Sphinx and supposedly was subsequently lynched for such an act.

But self-proclaimed Taliban Jihadist, al-Gohary, has stated that The Prophet calls for all idols to be destroyed. To simply and peacefully retort the claims that sites sacred to non-Muslims are to be sought out and destroyed, the passage of the Qu’ran 5:48 fits well. Muhammad stated to a group of individuals arguing over which religion had supremacy over the other, “If God so willed, He would have made all of you one community, but he has not done so, in order that he may test you according to what he has given you; so compete in goodness. To God shall you all return, and He will tell you the truth about what you have been disputing.”
