Everyone is aware of the word religion, but can anyone explain the exact definition of it? Religion is an extremely motivating force that motivates its followers. Religion is not limited to rituals and festivals. It is a mechanism that shows it followers the right way to live. Religion means laws, both moral and social that encourage the right way of living.

Humans are the only creation that have the power of transforming ideas, information and knowledge from one generation to another. That is how history is developed and civilizations are evolved. Today, when everyone is busy in a rat race of exceeding each other, and the world is at the verge of atomic destruction, religious harmony is the only solution. Religious harmony is the only way in which people around the world will be at peace and harmony with each other.  Every person has deep emotional roots with their religion. No matter what your religion is, you love and respect it and want it to be respected by others.

Human beings have been created equal and should not be discriminated against on any basis. In order to keep peace in the world, we all should make an effort to look into each others’ religion and find what is common between them. When this happens, we will be able to understand the basics of each belief and gain a sense of respect and dignity. When each religious group receives respect, they will ultimately agree to compromise, and a sense of universal brotherhood can be developed.

Prophets, saints and sages have appeared in different corners of the world in different ages. All of them have spread the message of love and peace. The government of every country should put their efforts toward bringing the people of different religions closer to each other. Peace and harmony acts have been passed, and many conferences have been held in many countries with the intention of promoting harmony and peace among different religions. If we can keep up with these, and the governments of every country take steps to protect every religion and its people, peace and harmony can be granted to everyone.

Religion plays a vital role in our lives and helps to achieve our goals in the right way. Religion is the most sacred thing in our life and teaches us equality, tolerance and peace. Tolerance towards other religion plays a vital role in developing inter faith harmony. Most of the problems today are cause by the intolerance and disrespect of individual’s towards other religions. All religion has the same basic teachings that are based on equality, brotherhood and peace. The differences are created by the individuals which results in inter faith clashes. Islam has also suffered a lot because of the west perception about Islamic teachings. West has promoted Islam as a religion that teaches terrorism and violence. This has been done by the western media through talk shows and debates. The blasphemy has been done by the non Muslims in order to show negativity of Islam. Islam is a religion of peace and does not allow any individual to raise weapons. These basic teachings are ignored by these people and they are only showing acts of individuals that are wrong. Few people involved in wrong doings do not represent the Muslims. Muslims love their religion and the messenger of Allah. It has been seen many times that west has ignited the Muslim feelings by making biased films and publications. These are responsible for the violence that erupted in many parts of the world.

People believe in these publications without doing proper research on the basics of Islam. The recent movie launched by an American Terry Jones has once more created a tense environment as it has presented a very bad Islamic image.  The movie was made in America in order to hit the Muslims leaders so that Muslims can be hurt. The movie proved to be a big act of terrorism as t has ignited violence all over the world. It was act of terror that was much devastating than 9/11. In the incident of 9/11 around 2500 people were hurt and this incident has hurt the feelings of 2 billion Muslims around the globe. As a result of this act of hatred American embassy staff was killed by the Muslim protestors. This act was condemned by the Muslims worldwide but only Muslims are not to be blame here. America didn’t ban the movie and said this to be the viewpoint of an individual which was more disturbing for the Muslims. Anger has reached to its peak in the Muslim world and all the American embassies in the Muslim worlds are under huge risk. This is a fact that for every action there is a reaction and this time reaction was much severe and it was not expected by the American authorities. America needs to respect other religions so that the destruction America has brought to the world after 9/11 can be minimized.

The Islamophobic blogosphere continues to set new standards in craziness. This poses some problems for those of us dedicated to combating it. The traditional reference to Melanie Phillips as "Mad Mel" now seems outdated since, compared with Pamela Geller, Phillips appears almost balanced and rational. And Geller, in turn, is outbid in the competition for sheer lunacy by Bonni Benstock-Intall of Bare Naked Islam. As quick scroll through her blog will confirm, "Bonkers Bonni" doesn't even begin to cover it.

A couple of weeks back the Maniac Muslim website posted a spoof article titled "IKEA Sponsors Masjid". Anyone with half a brain could spot that it was satirical. But that obviously excludes Bonni Benstock-Intall. In a post at The American Muslim ("The Maniac Muslim, Masjid IKEA, and Bare Naked Islamophobia") Sheila Musaji draws our attention to a truly demented post at Bare Naked Islam in which Benstock-Intall swallowed whole the story about the IKEA-sponsored masjid. ("Well, IKEA IS Swedish and we know how happy the Swedes are about the dramatic spike in rapes of Swedish women by Muslim men.")

"At this point", Shelia Musaji wrote yesterday, "her article has 33 comments from her devoted readers – all of them fitting this profile – I'll never shop at IKEA again, Florida Family Association should set up a boycott, corporations like this are 'betraying' America and are 'vile freedom-HATERS who are joining other corporations to DESTROY our freedom and human rights'."

Benstock-Intall did subsequently add a warning to her readers that "as I have not been able to verify this story, it may be a satire" (well, duh, yes – just possibly) followed by an announcement that comments were closed. The entire post has now been deleted. However, it can still be found over at a site rejoicing in the name of the Infidel News Network and screenshots of the original post at Bare Naked Islam, along with the comments it provoked, can be viewed here.

As Sheila Musaji points out, it is revealing that "even something as ludicrous as this stirs up the Islamophobic base to a hysterical pitch". These people really have taken leave of their senses.
