Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani teenager ,was recently shot by the Taliban because she refused to abandon campaigning for girls’ education in the country. According to sources she is now a target for enemies and will have to live under tight security for the rest of her life.

This 15-year-old girl was shot in the head by a Taliban member as she was riding a bus home from school. Right now she being taken care of in a Britain hospital and is recovering quite well. Ever since the attack that occurred in October, there has been a campaign that has been started for her to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Malala has said to her caretakers that she wants to return to her home country of Pakistan, but the Interior Minister Rehman Malik says that she will be a target and it will be quite unsafe for her to return. The Interior Minister has also said that the school that she used to attend in Mingora will still bear her name despite many people protesting that there may be attacks that could occur on the school. There are around 120 students that are protesting and are not attending school; they are also ripping up pictures of Malala Yousafzai to protest the renaming of Sadiu Sharif Girls College to Government P.G Malala Yousufzai. The students have given a three day deadline for the district to change the name of the school because they fear that they might face attack while Malala is completely safe in Britain.

The students say that they want the government to remove everything that bears her name because the Taliban are totally against Malala. They are out to destroy everything that has her name on it, including the girls’ college. Mr. Rehman Malik said that they will not change the name of the school because it is a tribute to honor her courage in the country. Mr. Malik has also said that he is very grateful to the British Government for being so kind and offering to treat her at the Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The doctors there are taking good care of her and will decide when it is appropriate to send her back to Pakistan.

Rehman Malik and the people of Pakistan are hopeful that when she gets better she will be able to move, walk, talk, and live a normal life. The only thing is that she will have to remain under tight security for the rest of her life, for the courageous act that she has committed. Ever since this attack, Malala has not just become popular in Pakistan, but she has gained a reputation as a hero all over the world. She is now an icon for the education of females and a role model for the country of Pakistan. This 15-year-old girl has shown a lot of courage that much older individuals are not even able to accomplish, and this is why she is an icon for many Pakistanis.

The young girl, by the name of Malala, who the Taliban wanted to have dead has not only survived, but is now capable of walking. She is one of the survivors and there are not many like her who have been able to live through such vicious attacks. According to the authorities, 15-year-old Malala’s ordeal is not over yet because she will have to be readmitted to the hospital in late January for cranial reconstructive surgery. Malala left the hospital just a couple of days after the vicious gunmen attacked a van in the Pakistani Swabi District around an hour away from Islamabad. The gunmen attacked around six women and a man that worked in the children’s community center. Around five teachers were killed along with two other health care workers in the area.

There was also another attack that unfolded at the time that Malala was released from the hospital. In India there was another shocking issue in which a lady that had dreams of becoming a doctor was brutally raped by a gang of men and later died in a Singapore Hospital. Her story has not just been a big ordeal in India, but it has put the whole nation in a state of shock. The girl’s name has not been released, but it has been said that she and her father had sold their land in a rural area and moved to Delhi so that his daughter could accomplish her dreams of becoming a doctor.  Now this dream is left unaccomplished and the world is left heartbroken by the chilling news.

All of these attacks on women have a connection with each other and are leading to the deaths of innocent lives. These women like the millions of women all over the world have dreams and of becoming successful teachers, doctors, or politicians some day so that they can have a brighter future. The outlook of any country is highly dependent on the people who are able to make it a better place with their talent. It is only those tough women like Malala that are able to promote women’s rights and fight for their lives. Ever since these incidences the world is beginning to recognize the value and contributions of women and girls and educate them on how they can handle difficult situations. In order to fight in difficult times it is essential that one must take a stand and be willing to make a difference. If we all work together and help create a safe society we can prevent dangerous attacks from occurring to protect the women of our society.

These days there are numerous organizations that have been developed for the protection of women’s rights and they are doing a great job of educating the world. These societies are put together by women that want to help other women who have encountered tough times and are in need of assistance.

Malala Yousufzai is a 14-year-old Pakistani girl who lives in the Swat Valley. She is known worldwide for the voice she raised against the Taliban and for fighting for the rights of women to acquire education. Previously, Swat was invaded by the Taliban, girls’ schools were destroyed through bomb blasts and girls were prohibited from acquiring education. Malala was one of the girls who raised her voice and fought for her right. After the Pakistani Army took over Swat and cleaned it from the Taliban, the girls started going back to school and people in the Swat Valley’s lives returned to normal. Malala has been awarded with various peace awards and is an inspiration for millions of girls worldwide. A month ago, Malala was shot in the forehead by Taliban armed firemen when she was on her way to home from school.

The terrorist first stopped the school van and then asked for identification of Malala Yousufzai, when they got her confirmation they opened fire which injured Malala along with her classmates Shazia and Kainat. Malala was shot in the forehead and the bullet passed through her brain and neck. Malala and her friends were shifted to Peshawar hospital, later they were airlifted to an Army hospital in Rawalpindi. There she went under surgery and the bullet was removed. For further recovery Malala was then shifted to Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham through an air ambulance. Malala is recovering there and has come out of her coma, various pictures and videos have been released of her which showed that she’s recovering.

The Secretary General of UN Ban Ki-moon has extended his support for this young, brave and ambitious girl, and has declared November 10 to be celebrated as Malala Day worldwide. The celebrations are taking place in which millions of girls and social activists are hosting events in support of Malala. Thousands of people from across the world have signed a petition for Malala to be awarded with the Nobel Peace prize. The girl has received support and wishes from various leaders including Obama. The government of Pakistan should take some steps to prevent such kinds of incidents in the future. It is a duty of government to protect the lives and wealth of all residents. Therefore such activities should be discouraged and stopped in future.  The Malala issue has risen in the whole world and famous leaders of the world are supporting her.

There is not any cause to award a noble prize to this young girl. You can check the educational background of her you will not find any good position. She passed the classes with average marks. Similarly Malala doesn’t create and introduce any technology for the benefit of human beings. Therefore, it is not right to award noble prize to this young girl. However it is important to stop such events and cases in future.

To the world who has gathered all of its attention to the cause which a young brave girl is advocating, I ask, why is it always too late to shed light on the grave problems which the Pakistani society faces?

Malala Yousafzai, a brave 14-year-old girl, who was shot by the Taliban, is spotted fighting the toughest battle at a tender age.

Malala Yousafzai stood up for the cause of girls’ education in the Swat valley, Pakistan, after the Taliban had banned the further education of girls. It was this little angel’s courage that was noticed and heard across the world, when she vented out her emotions on the atrocities of the Taliban.

Writers assess the already adverse situation prevailing in Pakistan relating to radicalism and explain the Malala Yousafzai episode as an extension of the Taliban mindset. Earlier, there have been several incidents and, sadly, the government of Pakistan failed to accomplish its parameters in this regard. We are at sheer discomfort with sprawling attacks every now and then by the Taliban. Why do we always blame the Taliban factor? Is it the easy method of passing the buck?

Salman Taseer, was penetrated with 27 bullets when he spoke up against the lawlessness against the minorities in Pakistan. Although many politicians supported him on this cause, they backed-off after his murder. How can we change as a society when we are too afraid to stand up against our grave problems?

We should be ashamed of not building up the courage to bring down the root causes. The whole society, individually or collectively, fails to look at the pertaining issues. Today, the matter of terrorism is the cancer of our society, which is brutally killing the minds and hearts of the people. We are so afraid to stand up or speak out and have no courage to admire or even support our own souls. Malala Yousafzai, who was not the product of our society produced the courage in her, despite a number of threats from left, right and center. Far less privileged, as compared to rest of the people of Pakistan who are technologically advanced and well secure, she didn’t let the element of courage leave her.

Her father, speaking to the media, said lately that surgeons in Pakistan worked for days to save her life after removing a bullet from her neck. Mr. Yousafzai said he was grateful for all their efforts.

“The way they saved my daughter was miraculous,” he said. He said he had stayed in daily contact with medical staff in Birmingham, but had not yet been able to speak to his daughter.

“She is all right. She is improving day by day, inshallah,” he said. “It has been difficult not being with her but at least we knew she was getting better.”

Malala Yousafzai has written a new chapter in the world’s book with her courage and belief in herself; she has achieved galore prayers to fight through this challenge.

Malala Yousafzai has once again gathered the world’s attention to her cause.  Malala Yousafzai, an education activist, was shot by a gunman in Mongora while she was traveling back home. Malala Yousafzai got her head shot by a single bullet which pierced down her neck. Today, Malala Yousafzai travels to UK for the treatment of her skull and is surely going through a crucial stage.

Malala Yousafzai maintained her diary on BBC website, her eloquence and passion in her ideas about Pakistan, Pakistani Taliban and the common people have been of a greater interest for the world. She is restless, brave and courageous who stood up for the people and declared clearly that her aim of life is to serve the humanity.

Malala Yousafzai has never been held down by any failures.  Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Laureate, announced the five nominees for the International Children’s Peace Prize 2011 in Cape Town. The prize is an initiative of the Dutch organization Kids Rights and was launched by Kids Rights during the 2005 Nobel Peace Laureates’ Summit chaired by Mikhail Gorbachev. And Malala Yousafzai was nominated amongst 98 children of the world.

This peace award is given to the child who has the biggest contribution to society at a very small age. The child who is not only aware of the social problems but also devotes his attention and takes initiative for the purpose and so on. Malala yousafzai although, made it to the list of nominees but failed to win.

Malala yousafzai was high in her spirits and said about the winner, “I am happy for Michaela for winning the prize as she is a special child and is already working for the disabled children,” adding “In fact, I couldn’t even stop my tears while seeing Michaela receiving the prize as it was hard for her to hold the prize due to her being a disabled child”. She said, “Though I believe that all the five nominees were deserving children, still had the prize been awarded to any of them then I might have felt bad and a question would have arisen in my mind of being discriminated but now I am glad that none other than Michaela won it.” “In fact, I still feel honored to be nominated for the award and for me it’s just a beginning as real journey of achieving my goal has yet to be started,”  (TN Malala,12)

This was the positivity that didn’t shake her from her mission and Malala continued to speak up for the girls rights in the Swat region. She said, “I had realized the importance of education during the period when the militants had taken hold of the less developed area Swat and destroyed most of the girls’ schools and colleges.” (TN Malala,12)

Malala Yousafzai is a courageous girl and the symbol of courage in Pakistan and the rest of the world. Who would have thought that a small 14-year-old girl would create a stir in the world when she’d be attacked by the Taliban

Malala Yousafzai is a young girl living in swat, Pakistan. Malala has always had high dreams about herself and Pakistan. Living in an area which was haunted by Taliban rule, Malala always spoke up against the brutal lawlessness promoted by Taliban. It was 2005 when on FM radio, a message was sent across the Swat Valley that no girl shall be allowed to study further or would go to school, and those who’ll do it will themselves be responsible for the consequences.  Malala Yousafzai always wanted to study further to become a doctor. This ambition helped her to stand up and raise her voice.

The New York Times picked her story, and “Class Dismissed in Swat valley” and “A School Girls Odyssey” were two documentaries published by the New York Times on the story of the brave girl Malala.

Right from the age of 13, Malala Yousafzai maintained a blog on BBC website and created awareness about the atrocities of the Tehrik-e-Taliban and extremist. Malala Yousafzai already had many feathers in her hat, she was the first Pakistani girl to be nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize. South African Nobel laureate Desmund Tutu announced the nominations during a 2011 ceremony in Amsterdam, Holland, Malala Yousafzai got her nomination again, although she didn’t win it but surely made her presence felt across the world in terms of raising her agenda which was the protection of her own people from the atrocities of Tehrik-e-Taliban and extremists. She also received the first ever honorable award of National Peace by the government and was nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize by the advocacy group, KidsRights Foundation, in 2011.

Nothing harmed Malala Yousafzai, who after losing the prize, was still in high spirits and said that she was equally happy for Micheala, as Micheala is a disabled child and her efforts for the disabled have been great.

Malala became the only voice of the girls in swat, she was the activist for the education of girls and She said, “I had realized the importance of education during the period when the militants had taken hold of the less developed area Swat and destroyed most of the girls’ schools and colleges,” she added that it was the right time to make a commitment to raising the voice for girls education. “My aim is actually not only to promote girls education but also to establish a forum where kids who work as domestic servants could get education as I have come across many children who do want to go to schools but their families financial constraints have deprived them,” (the News,12)

Today, Malala Yousafzai is fighting the toughest battle of her life after being attacked by the Taliban; this courageous soul is immensely needed by Pakistan and will definitely bring change into the society.
