The manufacturing of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones as they are more commonly called, is no longer a monopoly owned by the European nations and the Far East. These marvels of modern technology are now being produced by Muslim countries including Turkey, Iran, Jordan, and Egypt. Pakistan has recently begun manufacturing drone parts for Turkey.

Infamously known for its use by the United States and Israel in targeted killings without the risk of casualties on the side of the nation using it, these tools of war have become a milestone in the future of unmanned combat. And, for that reason, nations have been racing to acquire the technology and tools to manufacture these drones.

With the increase of US targeted killings in Pakistan, and with popular outrage over the damage this causes to the sovereignty of the nation, Pakistan was striving to manufacture its own drones to limit the US military actions within its borders. According to a Wall Street Journal article published in December 18th, 2012, Pakistan’s “defense industry is building what companies hope will be a domestic fleet of aerial drones that can take over the U.S.’s role in attacking militant strongholds.”

Lately, a new agreement between Turkey and Pakistan was signed, in which Pakistan would supply Turkey’s already-existing drone industry with new parts.

Numerous drones were produced by Pakistan, some of which were manufactured in partnership with China. Wikipedia, in its ‘List of Unnamed Aerial Vehicles’, lists over 30 drones made in Pakistan.

There are hopes that these drones would limit the US targeted killings of the so-called militants in Pakistan, and improve the guarding of Pakistani sovereignty over its territory.

Egypt has begun making progress in drone-manufacturing. Under Chinese licensing, Egypt has been producing ASN-209 drones, labeled as a ‘multipurpose unmanned aerial vehicle.’

Iran has built various types of drones. One drone, the Karrar, an unmanned combat aerial vehicle, was revealed in 2010, one day after the completion and activation of a nuclear reactor in that nation. Iran’s military manufacturing capabilities seem to be unaffected by the numerous sanctions imposed upon it in response to its nuclear project.

Turkey is a major drone producer. Its earlier partnership in military production with Israel enabled it to improve its military technology, and granted it easy access to drone technology. This cooperation in military advancement, however, was affected by the deterioration in political relations following the Israeli attack on the Turkish humanitarian ship that was travelling to Gaza. According to a recent article by the World Tribune titled “Strained Ties with Israel frustrating Turkey’s request for advanced US drones,” the US didn’t help Turkey with advanced combat drones due to Turkey’s strained relations with Israel.

Drone technology has lead to an arms race for developed unmanned aerial vehicles. The benefits drones have in military operations have led nations around the world to invest financial and human resources to manufacture and build these mechanical birds. Military operations with zero casualties, dreams of the past, are becoming realities. Just as the sharing of nuclear technology was a tool that affected and was affected by international relations, drone technology has also played that same role.

On Tuesday, Peter Maurer, the Red Cross chief condemned US drone strikes outside areas officially engulfed in armed conflict. He warned against a creeping expansion of the definition of what constitutes a battlefield. Since in the context of an armed conflict, drones are legitimate, Maurer said that Washington’s controversial and secretive use of drones was, in itself, not a problem.

Peter Maurer was quoted as saying to reporters in Geneva that the problem arises if a drone is used in a country where there is no armed conflict. Maurer said, “A drone used in Afghanistan or Yemen is a drone used within the context of an armed conflict, and thereby used legitimately.”

Moving to Pakistan, he believes the drone attacks are “particularly problematic”

Maurer on his return from a trip to the United States, where he met with President Barrack Obama, told AFP that “the US is very aware of where we disagree with the use of drones” He said that a widening interpretation of what constitutes a battlefield is the main problem with drone strikes today.

He said that, ”To link the definition of battlefields to combatants on the move is an interpretation that we don’t share.”

The US has been criticized by rights advocates and Lawmakers for its strikes against suspected al Qaeda militants in Pakistan, Yemen, and elsewhere. The US officials, however, refuse to discuss any details of the covert campaign in public.

Maurer says that he had also used his trip to urge Washington to swiftly address the problem of Guantanamo. Since February, dozens of prisoners in Guantanamo have been staging a hunger strike.

In 2009, Obama moved to close the controversial US detention facility, however, plans to try suspects in the US civilian courts were thwarted by congress. This move left many inmates in limbo.

“Lack of perspective in terms of transfer is at the origin of the big malaise that has been transformed into a hunger strike,” Maurer said.

The Red Cross visits the Guantanamo detainees on a regular basis; however, its reports on the prison’s conditions remain private to the US government and very hidden from the public.

Ever since this year’s threshold has been crossed, there has been a sharp incline in the rate of these attacks. Bill Roggio from the Long War Journal reported the demise of 11 civilians in the four attacks committed in the first two weeks of January.

The incident involving the death of about 38 civilians in a single precision strike during March 2011 is also much appalling. It is impossible to ascertain the true toll of death and destruction as the areas decimated by the CIA are closed to journalists, government related functionaries and other such peers.

War of a conventional sort brings about much in the way of collateral damage, that is what the drone supports present forth as an argument.

But is this truly a War that is being fought?

Are we privy to the true identity of our enemy?

Is the demise of Osama actually hastening the march towards world tranquility and peace?

Will the decimation of further militants of the sort eradicate terrorism?

The truth is that terrorism is something that cannot be annihilated or destroyed through the means of military might alone.

Ever since the terrorist incident orchestrated by the Al-Qaeda, there has not been one single US Citizen death from terrorism. In contrast, about 150 children have perished in school shootings initiated since 2003.

Perhaps it is time for the US to quit is countering terrorism worldwide and pay a bit more mind and attention to its laws and regulations, regarding guns and weaponry.

Drone attacks have been considered as controversial and people oppose them. Although these drone attacks have killed more than three thousand people, somehow some “most wanted” people have been killed in these attacks. The latest news comes in media regarding the killing of top Taliban leader Mula Nazir, who was under grounded since last year. Sources confirmed today that in a drone attack that struck the tribal area of Pakistan “Wana.” More than 12 people were killed in this attacked and sources confirmed that Mula Nazir was among the top leadership of the Taliban’s wing in Pakistan.

He was among the top rated leader that has been killed in drone attack in Pakistan. Mulla Nazir is associated with training of fighters and send them to Afghanistan to fight against American troops and NATO. The Pakistani government has confirmed that in an air strike, two missile have been fired which resulted in killing of 12 people which includes Mula Nazir and five of his loyal friends.

According to some other sources, it has been confirmed that Nazir was killed when he was changing the car due to the mechanical issues in his car. His two deputies who are engaged in activities and are active in the area were also killed. The funeral prayer for the leader has been offered near a town in Waziristan. At the time of his funeral, all the shops and markets were forced to close.

Mula Nazir was having a close and friendly relationship with the Afghan Taliban and was helping them for some time. The 40-year-old leader was also linked with the haqani network in Pakistan. According to the sources it has been said a peace agreement has been made between the Islamabad officials and the Mula Nazir. He also has to face the threats of Pakistani Taliban as he warned them to stop killing innocent people in Pakistan. He has been attacked many times and few months back, he was injured in suicide bomb attack.

According to Pakistani officials it has been considered as a great set back,because due to his presence the Tahreek-e-Taliban was unable to operate freely in the North Waziristan as he hold peace talks with Pakistan officials in 2007. The impact of his death has divided the opinions of analysts. Some people believe that it will be a setback for Pakistan, but some people think that it will be a great achievement for U.S. army and Afghan government.

Most of the Taliban who claim to be the Muslims belong to Pashtunes Society. Islam always supports the education whether it be for boys or girls. According to a hadith of Muhammad (S.A.W.), it is essential for a Muslim, either a male or female, to get the proper education. Islam also says that a scholar is much better than a spiritual person. So it is clear that Islam promotes education. Then the question arises as to what the reason is to oppose female education by the Taliban. Perhaps it may be the Pashtunes tradition and customs. The Pashtunes mother produces the son to send to the wars and he practices war training in his childhood. A Pashtune daughter is to stay at home and help her mother with the household work.

All these stories seem to be rumors about the Pashtunes when we see the reality in the area. There are a lot of schools and colleges in the tribal areas, mostly the Swat. Swat could have been declared as the education capital of Pakistan due to the presence of the medical and law colleges including nursing and computer schools. Also, there are hundreds of informal beauty schools that offer on-the-job training for the poor girls who cannot afford other types of education. The presence of such types of schools does not support the theory that Pashtunes are against education.

The reality is that there are different groups of the Pashtunes, some are in favor of education, and some are against it. Both are part of the Taliban militants. The Talibans who are against education do not send their children to schools. They claim that education for girls is the tradition of the Western people to favor secularism. So they are more frightened from the female education than even the drone attacks. They think that the traditions are much more important than their lives. So they also have destroyed many schools and colleges present in the area. Actually, they are supported by the uncivilized and uneducated people using the name of Islam. So, they fear from the fact that due to education, people will become civilized and there will be no support for them in the local area.

Education is important for both men and women because it makes the people confident, civilized and  professional. It is a fact that only educated women can better handle problems. Therefore, we cannot deprive women from education because it is their basic right. The progress of any nation or country is not possible without women being educated. It is most important to stop the anti-education activities of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Mardi, l’Iran a prtendu qu’ils ont marqué une autre victoire sur les États-Unis en capturant un drone conçu comme un boeing ScanEagle presque intact. Cela a été considéré comme une grande victoire du point de vue de l’Iran dans la guerre froide contre les Etats-Unis. Cependant, la Marine américaine a nié l’allégation et a précisé que la revendication de l’Iran ne tient pas la route car aucun de leurs drones ne manque.

De plus, la Marine américaine a mis en doute comment l’Iran pourrait capturer un drone ScanEagle conçu comme un boeing intact, vu qu’ ils sont très légers dans le poids. Le ScanEagle a un corps en fibre de carbone et selon la Marine, il est impossible de capturer le drone sans endommager son corps. De plus, les Etats-Unis ont aussi déclaré que le drone peut provenir d’un certain autre pays du Golfe Persique et confondu avec un drone américain.Il y a divers autres rumeurs autour de la capture du drone : quelques personnes croient que c’était un drone endommagé qui s’était effondré et c’est l’Iran qui l’avait trouvé dans l’océan. Selon cette rumeur, l’Iran prétend avoir capturé le drone pour bosseler la confiance des Etats-Unis. Cela pourrait aussi être une tactique utilisée par l’Iran pour gagner l’attention des Etats-Unis et créer la tension à Washington. De plus, l’avion ScanEagle est complètement différent en comparaison des drones modernes actuellement utilisés car il contient seulement un appareil photo pour qu’il puisse capturer des images pour des buts de renseignements.

Aussi loin que les USA sont concernés, le contrôle des frontières de l’Etat du Golfe Persique obtient beaucoup d’importance. En raison de ceci, l’Iran a renforcé ses forces Navales en s’équipant avec la dernière technologie de guerre pour respecter la technologie de guerre américaine. Le ministre des Affaires Étrangères de l’Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, a dit à la Télévision nationale : “nous avions conseillé aux officiels américains de ne pas violer notre espace aérien. Nous avions formellement protesté contre de telles actions et avions annoncé que nous protégeons nos frontières.” Cela montre l’intention de l’Iran : ils n’accepteront aucun compromis si l’Amérique et ses alliés essayent de violer la juridiction d’espace aérien iranienne.

Cdr. Jason Salata, le porte-parole de la Marine américaine, a nié la réclamation iranienne et a dit qu’aucun de leurs drones ou avion ne manque dans la région du Golfe Persique. Il a ajouté que “la Marine américaine a entièrement représenté tous les véhicules aériens sans pilote opérant dans la région du Moyen-Orient.”

Cependant, l’Iran a rejeté la réclamation faite par la Marine américaine et a dit qu’ils ont la preuve solide qui prouve qu’ils ont capturé le drone des Etats-Unis. De plus, ils ont ajouté qu’ils présenteront plus de preuve bientôt. Les déclarations faites par les deux côtés continueront certainement à ajouter la pression car ils présenteront des preuves pour appuyer leurs déclarations.

À l’heure actuelle, nous pouvons juste nous asseoir et attendre les nouvelles. On attend que l’Iran présente la preuve évidente dans les prochains jours et cela pour voir quelle position les Etats-Unis prendront et comment ils traiteront la situation.

ATTAQUES DE DRONE

La C.I.A. des USA a exploité leurs avions drone pendant une décennie dans les frontières reliant le Pakistan et l’Afghanistan à travers la Base aérienne Shamsi. Au commencement, ils ont visé ces zones du Pakistan et de l’Afghanistan où le Taliban et Al Qaeda s’étaient installés, mais maintenant ils ont changé leur stratégie et attaquent les zones tribales du Pakistan où ils prétendent qu’il y a des terroristes, bien qu’il n’y ait aucun terroriste installé là du tout. Ces attaques de drone ont tué mille des hommes innocents, des femmes et des enfants. Il y a aussi eu une attaque de drone accidentelle au poste de contrôle de Salala qui a tué environ 24 militants pakistanais de l’armée.Arrêtez les Attaques de Drone

Les attaques de drone sont un symbole de terreur et de crainte, la C.I.A. l’a montré complètement dans les zones tribales du nord du Pakistan que les USA gouvernent eux-mêmes et personne, non même le gouvernement pakistanais peut les protéger. La provision pétrolière de L’OTAN à ces avions est le cadeau du Pakistan à ces avions de drone. Des protestations différentes se sont produites à travers le Pakistan contre le gouvernement exigeant d’arrêter l’approvisionnement de L’OTAN immédiatement. Dans des nombreux cas les navires-citernes de L’OTAN ont été attaqués par les terroristes.

Toute l’armée pakistanaise est dans les zones du nord du Pakistan se battant contre le Taliban et tous les groupes extrémistes, libérant les terres soumises. La condition de la Russie après la guerre contre les Afghans est un exemple pour le monde entier. Donc, le monde entier devrait apprécier le rôle et la performance du Pakistan contre le Taliban. Maintenant, la condition de paix du Pakistan a été sévèrement endommagé en raison de cette guerre. Les explosions de bombe et les attaques au Pakistan sont dus à la guerre Afghane. Le Taliban veut arrêter la contribution du Pakistan dans la Guerre en Afghanistan; donc, ils attaquent les forces et les gens du Pakistan.

Le Pakistan a gagné une grande perte dans cette guerre. Les USA devraient admettre et accepter cette vérité et arrêter les attaques de drone.

The year the first drone attack was made on Pakistan was 1024 A.D and was performed by the Jews against Mahmud Ghaznavi’s army. Innocent Pakistanis as well as their camels were killed in portions of North Waziristan. These drones were first invented by Albert Einstein, a very popular Jewish scientist. Due to drone attacks, more than 3 billion Muslims in Pakistan have been killed since 1024 A.D.

There are rumors that the Pakistani Military has allowed Americans to plan drone attacks toward Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Pakistan, but the country has never allowed them to make such attacks as they too suffer when attacks are made. The military is in fact fighting against these drone attacks. It doesn’t mean that they are supporting the Al-Qaeda or the Taliban, but they just need to stop these attacks for the safety of innocnet Muslims who want to live peacefully in Pakistan. It is only the civilian Government that has allowed American to complete drone attacks, and President Zardari is the one who is especially responsible. The president owns a large number of such factories that are making drones in Switzerland.

The American government has made a false statement that they are using drone attacks against the militants who are being protected by the Pakistani Military. Recently, many innocent people have been attacked and have suffered due to these attacks. There is now a need for us Pakistanis) to protest against these drone attacks before they become the reason of complete destruction in Pakistan. We are currently protesting for common issues like the cases of gang rape, blasphemy and suicides. Instead of spending so much time on these issues, we should now protest to stop these drone attacks and create peace in our living place. The drone attacks have killed billions of Pakistanis, and we need to protect ourselves before more are lost.

Americans are now bribing the Chinese to make the weapons and accessories needed to create the drones and export them to Pakistan. These toys can kill our children and innocent families. Drones are considered the major reasons for the devastating floods that occurred last year in Pakistan. The horrifying and destructing earthquakes in Islamic emirates are again caused by these drone attacks. Along with these destructive events, drone attacks are becoming the cause of much corruption, energy storage problems and health problems among the Pakistanis. We need to stop them, and we need to protest against these attacks so we can keep ourselves and our children safe.

The American forces when did not achieve the required result in the war against terror in Afghanistan, they got panicked and start taking some wrong decisions. One of them is their policy of making drone attacks to make a targeted attack on the main culprits who are hiding in tribal areas of Pakistan. As for the purpose of making target, the required Taliban who was hiding in the tribal territory, it was successful at the start of their doing pin pointing attacks at the exact location of Taliban hideouts and their compounds.

After the initial successful attack against al-Qaida and their allied groups, now the Taliban has changed the strategy of continuously shifting their position and also hiding themselves in the public area and making the civilian public as their protective shield against attack from drones. Though it is the responsibility of the general people public not to allow the Taliban to get mixed up in the residential area, but due to the tribal area customs and having there no such organized setup general public is being suffered due to drone attacks.  In these attacks a lot of civilian public is being killed and victimized due to these attacks. By this way there has been a lot of chaos and sense of hatred against the drone attacks. The purpose of a drone is being spoiled as the killing of unnecessary civilian public due to these attacks.

For that matter there is no use of carrying out such attacks which are bringing a sense of hatred against the United States. As the area where drone attacks are targeting, the Taliban and the surrounding people are all Muslims, so the general public facing unwanted consequences. It has given the impression of such attacks are against the Muslims.  In order to get success the USA troops need to redesign their strategy. It can be done with the help of engaging Pakistani military forces to assist the United States in this regard. Another option of providing the drone technology access to the Pakistan, This will help the to save the life of innocent people. It has been seen that most of the drone attacks missed their actual target and a lot of kids and women got killed in these drone attacks. There is lot agitation carried out and a chain of protest has been done against such activities which are given the label of attacks against Muslims community.

This hatred among Muslim is increasing day by day and it seems this strategy is losing the support of America Muslim and America people as well. If no remedial action is taken then it will boost the extremism in the continent. Now it is a good time for America to redesign its policy and get some sort of support from Muslim. This can be a source of bringing much better result in the restoration of good relation with the Muslim nations of the world. US department of Defence must think about chaging it now.
