Kabul, capital city of Afghanistan on Thursday did not agree to hand over Maulvi Faqir who is a senior Taliban leader in Pakistan. This happened few hours after Islamabad asked for his release. In the beginning of this week, the Afghanistan intelligence captured the Taliban leader in the Afghan’s eastern part.

In the briefing done by the press this week, Moazzam Khan, the spokesperson of the foreign ministry released reports that the capture of Faqir was already informed to the foreign minister Hina Rabbani. Zalmani Rassoul, who is the counterpart of Rabbani, was the one who gave the information on Thursday on a telephone call.

It is our hope that Faqir would bet set free and be given out to the government of Pakistan for trials because he is responsible for shedding of the innocent blood of the citizens. Khan told the press on his released a report about the capture of Faqir.

Unfortunately, the request to release Faqir to Pakistan government was turned down by the foreign ministry in Afghan few hours after the request owing to the claim that there was no legal agreement that would see the exchange of the prisoners by Pakistan and the Afghanistan countries.

Janan Musazai, spokesperson of the foreign ministry in Afghanistan sent an email to Tribune express claiming that, in the tripartite summit which was recently held in London, Islamabad turned down the request by Kabul to hand over a prisoner in Taliban. This clearly depicts that it was a revenge mission by Kabul.

Afghanistan had requested the handing over of this prisoner to its government by the Pakistan government so that the two governments would take part in peace and reconciliation talks. However, Pakistan kept on insisting that there was no agreement that allows the exchange of prisoners between the two countries.

Musazai insisted that it was equally important for the Afghan government to get this prisoner and that it would consider taking the Pakistani government into consideration regarding this issue. He insisted that the exchange of the prisoner was necessary for the purpose of peace and reconciliation.

As this was in progress, Musazai said that the government is doing everything to investigate and release reports about the capturing. He told the media. However, when he was reached over the phone, he refused to give any further details regarding the capture of the citizen.

The former TTP’s deputy chief, Faqir was demoted when there were reports claiming that he was having unauthorized contacts with the government of Pakistan. Through the confirmation on the interview by the Tribune Express, he agreed to having contacted the religious leaders in Pakistan twice on behalf of the top security officials. Officials in Pakistan claim that the former TTP deputy chief fled to Afghanistan in the year 2008 and 2009, in the tribal region.

This is a clear indication that it will be quite hard for Faqir to be handed over to his government. He may face charges in the court of law in the country that he got arrested.

As a direct response to the September 11 attacks, NATO acted upon Article 5 of the NATO Articles for the first time in its history. An assault that would pan out for longer than a decade was started in Afghanistan, the basic aim of the initiative being the removal Taliban from power, finding Osama Bin Laden & destroying Al-Qaeda completely.

Troops from 42 countries were sent as NATO took charge of a mission outside north Atlantic area for the first time in history. After the initial attacks, prominently Torra Borra & Operation Anaconda, NATO was given control of ISAF (international Security Assistance Force), and by 2006 NATO forces had expanded the mission throughout Afghanistan.

In May 2011, after the US-NATO led undercover operation in Abbotabad, the death of Osama Bin Laden was confirmed. One major milestone was achieved, though at the cost of numerous lives. There on, a plan to evacuate NATO forces from Afghanistan was endorsed during the 2012 Chicago Summit, it was agreed that all the troops will be removed from the Afghan Region by the end of 2014.

The initial step towards removal of forces from the region was taken by US when President Barrack Obama announced to call back 10,000 troops by the end of 2011, shortly followed by Canada’s withdrawal of all their armed forces from Afghanistan. Following them, France, Belgium and other countries who have also announced the removal of their army. Though the United Kingdom has voiced to follow suit, they have not yet specified the figures or timing. The long term plan is to evacuate completely the region when the timing and situation allow and hand over control to Afghan National Army.

Though according to an article in Washington Post, NATO is seriously considering the retention of some 350,000 troops in Afghanistan till the end of 2018, the ultimate and complete withdrawal is eminent. The topic is being thought upon in lieu of the current unstable situation which the Alliance wishes to resolve before they leave.

The total strength of roughly 450,000 (as of October 2012) army men fighting against the Taliban has a fair share of ISAF and other Alliance forces, and it is being viewed that the removal of forces may leave the country in a state of mayhem. The expected general atmosphere is being viewed as dangerous, and some of the analysts are of the opinion that US & NATO together have failed to deliver.

For starters, Afghanistan has no air force and so forth they have been relying heavily on the external military aid for containing the insurgencies. Afghanistan on their own is hardly up to the mark in matters of wealth or expertise, shown evidently by the fact that out of the latest 68000 new Afghan recruits, 48000 have quit.

According to Pentagon, out of Afghanistan’s 23 Brigades only one is capable to work on its own. The situation is being taken as highly volatile as the country’s looming economic distress. Military slackness coupled with the looming fear of “re-talibanization” will hardly amount to a desired outcome.

For a long time now people have had preconceived notions about America’s hatred of the Islamic regions. Are people really justified to think that the Americans hate the Muslims? Considering the efforts that America has put towards offering support to the Islamic nations, you cannot really come up with the conclusion that there is hatred for the Muslims. The problem has even been propelled further by the thought that the Americans are killing the Muslims ruthlessly in the name of fighting terrorism in the world.

There are a number of ways that the Americans have sacrificed for the Muslim nations, specifically Iraq and Afghanistan. Everyone knows very well that these are terrorist-infested areas. Did you see the state of the two nations, some years back? Pathetic! Raised tension across the country, mass killing, abduction, launching of attacks, overthrowing of government leaders  and assassinations were the order of the day. And, how are things now? Fairly good! All thanks to the sacrifice of the American nation.

Americans sacrificed their military, their funds, ammunition and their best military jets just to ensure that the activities of the terrorists had been paralyzed. At the end of the day, they did all that. The camps that were hosting the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan have been destroyed. Peace is being brought about, slowly but gradually. Things will finally heal. Is that not what compassion is? The love for the Iraq and the Afghanistan people by America was what lead to such fatal sacrifices.

All the dictators and leaders who had been forcibly in power, were overthrown and executed. Take the example of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. It was a big sacrifice for the Americans to remove him from power and get him executed in the court of law. After things were brought back to normal, Americans started sacrificing their resources for the purpose of renovations. Through the help of Americans, the Iraq and Afghanistan citizens started electing new leaders to power. Funds were donated by the American government to set elections and set new administration posts so as to simply give rise to leaders of high integrity in the two countries.

After that, America made sacrifices of its best engineers so that they would go and work together with the engineers in Afghanistan and Iraq to construct modern buildings. New roads, bridges and government buildings were constructed. Many of the resources for innovations also came from America. That was not all. Medical sectors also required doctors and health officers. Most of the health centers were not in operation. The health centers are being constructed, modern facilities for treatment are put in place and doctors from America come to work in these places. That is one of the greatest sacrifices that the American government has made in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That was not all. Economic sacrifices were made. New investors from America and many parts of the world have been asked to invest their cash  in Iraq and Afghanistan. A lot of cash has been donated to fund the economic activities in the two countries.

The United States of America has played a major role in rebuilding Afganistan and this has resulted in many things, among which some have had positive implications while others have had negative implications. This interference resulted in the formation of a partnership among the two countries in the year 2001. The partnership still exists by today and though it has received many condemnations from the Muslim population, many people consider this partnership to be the best thing that has ever happened to the state of Afghanistan.

Some of the benefits that the world has gained through this collaboration among the two states are reduced threats to international peace and this in turn has boosted world security. Afghanistan has also benefited heavily through this partnership. One of the benefits that has been acquired by Afghanistan is improved security. The security of this country as a whole has been boosted in major airports, hotels and other public gathering areas. The other benefit that has been acquired by the citizens of Afghanistan is improved governance.

The system of governance in the country has been boosted to overwhelming levels. Ever since the American forces captured Saddam Hussein and took him to trial where he was sentenced to death, the country’s system of governance has improved. This eliminated the system of poor governance and leadership in the country. This action also helped to eliminate tyrannical leaders and helped the country to embrace democracy and fairness in elections. The removal of this leader of the government also allowed the country to grow in terms of infrastructure and in other areas.

The infrastructure in the country such as roads, and social amenities such as schools underwent a new transformation that allowed the country to be more habitable to visitors from other countries. The other benefit that the country accrued is improved relations with other countries. These improved relations have allowed the country the ability to trade with other countries – for example, the ability  to trade its rarer commodities. The new system of governance has also created job opportunities for many of its citizens in the oil refineries and mining areas and in other sectors of the economy.

Citizens being engaged in income-generating activities  has helped to eliminate, or rather eradicate the culture of youths and other citizens who are involved in terrorism activities. The partnership between the two states has also resulted in the redrafting of the country’s constitution. The previous constitution did not include clauses that recognized young women and to worsen the situation, did not place emphasis on human rights. The new constitution has encompassed many rights and values so that human beings may coexist with each other.

Unlike the old constitution, this new one allows women to get into parliament not only as representatives of various dockets but also as the head of the state. The constitution also allows for other human rights such as the right of freedom of speech. In general it can be well-put that the country has benefited a lot from the interference of the United States of America.

U.S. forces are now winding up all their business in Afghanistan as the war is in its 12^th year. The U.S. couldn’t leave a substantial impact, in fact it got hundreds of soldiers killed, despite having flawless technology and equipment. On the other hand, Afghan forces are showing very little interest in the peace talks, which is alarming the U.S. troops who have to shut down before 2014 approaches.

”We are probably headed for stalemate in 2014,” says Stephen Biddle, a George Washington University political science professor who has advised U.S. commanders in Afghanistan and Iraq. If that is the case, the U.S. will have to pump billions of dollars a year into Afghanistan for decades to prevent its collapse, Biddle says.

In the year 2001,”Operation Enduring Freedom,” was begun to achieve its goals and free the people of the Taliban atrocities, but in reality, it has become an operation enduring exit.

The Afghan Taliban is very strong and also maintains their close ties with extremist groups in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, al-Qaida and the Pakistan-based Haqqani network.

U.S. commanders say with confidence that their war campaign is on track, and President Barack Obama seemed to agree in his debate last Monday with Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

”There’s no reason why Americans should die when Afghans are perfectly capable of defending their own country,” Obama said. Yet the path forward is dotted with question marks: Will Afghanistan’s security forces be capable of holding off the Taliban on their own? (Dawn, Afghan,30)

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, who championed the additional American troops, remains optimistic.

”We’ve come too far, we’ve fought too many battles, we have spilled too much blood not to finish the job that we are all about,” Panetta said in Brussels this month after meeting with his counterparts from Nato nations. The “job” Panetta referenced is no longer to defeat the Taliban before 2015 or to eradicate al-Qaida in its Afghan redoubts, but to create an Afghan security force that can at least hold the substantial gains achieved by the US-led international alliance. Several things indicate that the U.S. may not really be into talking with the Taliban to sort out this issue, ”Our task is to put our first down the throat of the Taliban and squeeze his heart so that he will talk,” said Australian Maj. Gen. Stephen Day, the coalition’s chief of plans.

The U.S. now has 66,000 troops in Afghanistan, joined by about 37,000 from allied countries, and it’s still to be decided how many will be withdrawn by 2013, next year.

Afghanistan has been a hub of terrorism over many decades, extremist mindsets have been trouble shooting the Islamic image around the globe.

Four U.S. troops have been killed this Sunday at a checkpoint in southern Afghanistan member of the Afghan security forces opened fire on them, military officials said. “The attack brought to 51 the number of international troops shot dead by their Afghan partners this year.” this has sadly made news around the world recently.

NATO killed around 9 women who were working and gathering firewood from the mountains, NATO killed mercilessly these innocent women. Recent attack on the U.S. troops has been the reaction to the killing of 9 innocent women who were gathering firewood from the mountains. If U.S. troops begin to kill innocent Muslims then the reaction would also kill U.S. troops by Afghanis and this can further bitter the relations between the two.

NATO partners are training the Afghan forces so that they can take up the charge of the national security and the American forces and its coalition partners are planning to leave the Afghan borders before 2014.

U.S. troops being killed by Afghan forces have created news but this information was not released immediately by the American network. According to the news sources in Afghanistan “In Wardak province, a restive area south of Kabul, some commanders appeared to misinterpret the guidance and postponed several major operations for three days. Because Afghan army commanders in Wardak were reluctant to patrol without support from U.S. troops, they also chose to cancel the planned missions.

The pause in Wardak had initially been planned to last only two days, but U.S. commanders extended it in the immediate aftermath of a Friday night attack by the Taliban on Camp Bastion — a large British base in Helmand province — so that U.S. troops could focus on internal base security in case similar insider attacks were launched.

The Taliban said the attack on Camp Bastion, which is hundreds of miles from Wardak, was initiated to avenge the video and to target Britain’s Prince Harry, a helicopter gunner on the base. Two U.S. Marines died in the attack and upwards of $200 million in aircraft and base structures were destroyed.”

Muslims in Afghanistan are being killed mercilessly; recent killing of the 9 innocent women has dreadfully hurt the Muslims around the world. “The weekend’s events touched the core of the U.S.-led war’s problems. The escalating insider ­attacks and continuing civilian casualties both deepen mistrust and alienate NATO forces from the people they are supposed to be protecting, undermining an already fragile partnership.”

NATO forces are strong in their plans to leave Afghanistan early or by 2014, enough of the blood has been shed in Afghanistan that killed Muslims, now the region is being handed over to its own residents again so that they can lead their lives according to their will and can project equality and justice. America has trained them enough to take up the charge of the nation security of the country and fight the further terrorism more effectively.

Muslim around the world have been deeply hurt by the recent filming of anti-Islam film which depicted a false image of the beloved Prophet (peace and blessings upon him), the video circulated over the internet and got attention of the Muslims when its subtitles were poste din Arabic and were sent to Egyptian journalists. Such humiliation done by this American movie activity provoked Muslim world to stand up and united against this piece of non-sense., this hurt Muslims not emotionally but also aesthetically.  The series of protests are on the verge in all Muslim countries lately.

Violent rage has been spreading all over the Muslim world, Afghanistan has now been in its folds, Muslims didn’t behaved cowardly and presented their courage and bravery to the world. Hundreds of the people came out on the streets, stormed the cars and vehicles, burnt the tyres and spoke up against the sprawling impact of the movie.

The movie is called “innocence of the Muslims” which has been blocked in all Muslim countries. “In Washington, the White House acknowledged that it had sought to discourage distribution of the video that sparked the protests but insisted that it had made no formal request to the video-sharing Web site YouTube, which is owned by Google. Tommy Vietor, the National Security Council spokesman, said the White House had asked YouTube “to review whether it violates their terms of use.’’ Google said this week that it had blocked access to the video in Egypt and Libya.”

The protests are not stopping in the Muslim world, it’s the fouth day in Afghanistan that protests continue to happen, earlier the intensity was quiet low but today it seemed to cover a larger space. “The people are going to raise their voice to show we are not silent. With the last breath in our body we will be against those who are insulting to our religion and prophet,” said Haji Samar Gul, an 80-year-old protester at the Kabul demonstration. “We shouted death to America, death to supporters of America, death to slaves of America.”

A few protesters carried guns, and eyewitnesses claimed they opened fire several times, but police said they resisted responding with their own weapons even though officers were injured by rocks.

“The police did not open fire at all, we used other techniques to control the protest,” said the city police chief, Ayub Salangi, who was among those hit by the protesters.

Muslims have presented a strong picture of unity around the world, they have stood up united and strong and left no stone unturned in condemning the ruthless gesture of the makers of the American film. Anti-U.S. protests spread to Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Britain, East Jerusalem, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Pakistan, Qatar, Syria, Turkey, the West Bank and Yemen, according to U.S. officials and news reports, with many protesters chanting religious slogans and railing against the denigration of Islam in the obscure low-budget video.”

There has not been any apology been received by U.S. and protests begin to happen in the Muslim world even today.
