Christianity is the world’s largest religion, and the followers of this religion are living around almost all parts of the world. Every person has a different stance regarding religious rigidity and peace. Some followers stick to their religion in a peaceful manner while others are aggressive. This fact applies for all religions. Among the long list of religions, two major religions including Islam and Christianity claim to be religions of peace. So let’s test the claim of Christianity as a religion of peace.
Christianity is a combination of different beliefs, passages and traditions that do not support the implication of love, peace and forgiveness. Every community based upon religion, tradition, race or any other factor is always divided into two groups. One group is constituted of peaceful minds, but the other one represents aggression. The people from both groups stand for justice and equality, but their definition of justice and equality is different from each other. So this is where the difference arises.
The real peace in this world cannot exist until or unless prevalence of justice so those who are in support of violence sometimes take this as their helping hand. They argue that if you want to have a real long time peace in this world and provide the fair justice to the people around the world, then there is no harm to use violent factors to achieve the mutual agenda. The intention matters a lot, what you are doing is for what purpose? If you are doing violence for your own hidden motives, then no religion or group can allow it.
Every religion teaches peace to its followers. So it is understood that violence is not the real solution, and it can become a part of creating a bigger problem. It is definitely not an end to a mean. So, this is the reason, Christianity even denies rule of violence.
The group that shows their efforts for love and peace believes that the problem can only be solved through dialogue and talks. The war and violence are not a solution in themselves. So they prefer to win the hearts of people through their love for peace. They are also advocating their point that Jesus was believed to be the “Prince of Peace”.
Both groups have their opinion. You can assume that a Christian can be a peace lover or war hunter, but definitely Christianity is a religion of peace. It depends upon the followers that how they put the rules of Christianity into practice.
